IDJ eternity band question?

I'm considering an eternity from IDJ. I'm looking at a 2ct and I'm wondering if it will look good with a 1.8 ct RB and also what size should I order? My actual size is 5.5 but I like my rings a tad loose so I wear a 5.75. Should I order a 6 just in case my finger gets bigger over time? Thanks in advance :)

I should add that I posted a similar question last week about wanting a .75 or 1 ct, but I went and tried them on and I much prefer a 2 ct.

Friendly bump :)

Hi What size pointers are in the 2ct band? Regarding size Im definitely no expert but what what I read it may depend on the style, for example with a uprong eternity most people say it feels a tad larger in their normal size. I don't think you would need a size 6, but then again depending on widths ect it may be more comfortable if you like them fitting a little loose. Hopefully some more people will pop in and give there opinion but I think you definitely need to advise us of the style and pointer size. :)

The stones are .10

Thanks for the advice on the gold balls.

I have a 2 ct stone and wear a 2.25 ct eternity band. I think the 2ct would be perfect with your ring. I like a bolder look, you won't regret it. My e ring is a 4.25 and my eternity is a 4.5. You can size up because your ring will basically act as a ring guard.

Makemepretty thank you so much for your advice and personal experience :) I can't wait to make my final decision!

I have a 2 ct with 10-pointers with the open u prong setting from IDJ. I think it is sized as a 6.5. I absolutely adore it. The diamonds are large enough to throw off serious sparkle and fire, but not so large that they overwhelm. I absolutely adore this ring -- it is a true multi-tasker! As a note, I have some huggie earrings from IDJ with15-pointers -- which I also love. But, I prefer the 10-pointers for the ring.

Good luck!

Millennistar thank you for sharing your experience :)

I just ordered an eternity from idj in .15 pointers. I had it sized in my normal size as uprong styles fit me looser it seems. I will post pics when I receive it later this week. I would go a size up if youare worried.

Can't wait for pictures :)

Does anyone know if they offer a discount for mentioning this website?

I dont recall them offering a discount for mentioning pricescope (they may, I simply don't remember). I do, however, remember them saying they "select the best diamonds" for pricescope members. :D

I just ordered an IDJ eternity band last week (10 pointer). I faced a similar ring size dilemma. I seem to range from a size 3.5 to a size 4 depending on where the ring is from. Yuketiel measured my fingers/rings (slid and felt the rings up and down my finger) and suggested that for this ring I go with a full 4. When Jade was assisting me, he eyed my ring size as 3.5 (purely by eye no tools while he was also assisting another customer--impressive multi-tasking). I was impressed as my original engagement ring size is 3.5 (2.5mm), which fits perfectly but with a wedding band (2.5 mm) it sometimes felt a little snug in the summer (total 5 mm). My e-ring reset is at 3.75, which is now too loose (but that may be because of the widths of the ring itself (?)--going from 2.5mm to thinner). My Tiffany wedding bands are size 4 (my 3.75 ring is looser than my size 4 Tiffany ring). Because of my concern with the range of sizing, I wanted to go in myself and did so on a visit to NYC. Did they recommend a ring size for you? I'm excitedly awaiting my IDJ 10 point eternity band so I can't tell you first hand how their band fits in the recommended size yet.

I originally went in to find a thinner band to go with my e-ring but went totally to the other end getting a 10 pointer. The sample band was eye catching.

I've admired many IDJ rings posted on Pricescope so the ring is to be made Pricescope quality.

Hi CandyGirl, :wavey:
They do a good upgrade policy (like for like providing you have an average finger size, which you do). I just plan on upgrading mine if my fingers get bigger.

Thank you so much for all the helpful advice. I think I'm just going to go with a size 6 and I'll have beads put on the inside if it's too big. Make sure everyone waiting on their eternity bands posts pictures once they get them :)

Sweet_blossom I only tried on a half eternity in person. We live in Hawaii and it's sooooooo hard to find a jeweler that carries eternity bands. I also thought I wanted a smaller band until I tried them on and realized I love love the one with 10 pointers. I'll call IDJ soon to get the ball rolling :)

Candygrl, how exciting. Hope it is everything you want and more.

Thank you! I. Recently upgraded my center stone and changed the setting to a 2mm Tiffany style knife edge so know it's time to replace my band. My old setting was a channel setting and I never really loved it. I emailed Luann so I'm now waiting on her price quote :). I'm super excited!

Idj eternity band .17 pointers. Eternity is under my five stone. Size 4.5

Candygrl, This picture doesn't do the diamond band justice, but here you go. Hope you enjoy yours when it arrives. Can't wait to see your pictures, too.

IDJ Diamond Eternity Band Stats: 14k White gold, 10 point, 16 round, 1.65 ctw. Low profile. Pricescope quality F-G SI. Size 4.

Wow beautiful  Seeing yours makes me wonder if 10 pointers might be too big with my 1.8 RB? Do you think it would be too big? Would 8 pointers be better?

Hi Candygrl, Perhaps in the picture it looks big, but in real life it looks nice. At IDJ, Jade modeled it with her solitaire (since the sample fit her better)and the pairing was beautiful. When you tried your solitaire with the 1/2 band of 10 pointers, did you like it?

Yes I loved it. What size solitaire does Jade have? Did you like the look? Sorry like I said we have very limited options for decent jewelery stores on this little island. The stores that I have been to usually only carry small eternity bands. I was planning to pay for the band tomorrow so I'm getting a little nervous.

Hi, I totally understand. The little trick-or-treaters keep coming to the door, so I quickly found this post: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/my-beautiful-halo-reset-from-id-jewelry.181276/

It's dec2410's 1.2 solitaire with a 10 point IDJ band -- includes before and after pictures with her ring.

I believe your solitaire may be larger(?) than Jade's but her shank was slightly larger than the shank on your U-113 (if I recall your previous post).

I'll try to find some other examples later, but I believe there are other threads too.

Back to passing out candy--The kiddos that come to the door are so adorable in their costumes :)

Thank you for the link, it helps tremendously. I don't have a U113 but I do have a 2mm Tiffany style knife edge. I hope I can make my decision by tomorrow :)

Hi, I couldn't find a 1.8 with a 10 point on Pricescope but it may be out there on Pricescope and I can't pull it up. Jade's modeling of the sample band with her solitaire was beautiful. Your post said that you loved it--it's what appeals to your eyes. Whatever your decision, I'm sure it will be beautiful. I can't stop staring at the ring.

My ring should be done in a couple of weeks so I'll post pictures as soon as I get it :). I'm super excited!

Luann emailed to tell me my ring is ready, but she said the jeweler accidental put two pink sapphire surprise stones instead of one pink and one blue :(. She asked me if it was ok and I told her no because they represent our birth months. So now I have to wait for her jeweler to fix it :(. Oh well it's my Christmas present anyway so I can't wear it until Christmas Day.

Candygrl, can't wait to see pictures!
