Yes, I love that ring. It's too big for my finger, too wide and too square, but it's beautiful. Not a criticism of the ring at all, it's just not right for me- I would so get it if I could pull it off.
This is "my" ring.
I like the classic shape which bends at a 90 degree angle from the flat part that touches the finger, then rises straight upward, and then arches over. I think this is called a high dome band. The width/ depth ratio is exactly what I like. In other words, how wide it is vs. how thick it is at its deepest point. I don't know but I imagine this is a shape of ring from the turn of the century (19th to 20th).
I agonized over this choice, and I like the Tiffany Lucida band shape a lot, but my vision always comes back to this shape, whether I want it to or not. This is the highest quality version of this ring (that probably goes without saying). None of the others I have seen has the right shape of the dome or quite enough height. They just kind of fall flat (for me). You know, to each his or her own. I put a lot of time and energy into this decision because men have relatively limited options for wearing jewelry. Maybe if this were the time of the Tudors and I could cover myself in jewels, I might get the generic version of this ring, but it's not, and I know if I get this ring, I will treasure it.
I can't wait to see your pictures! Thanks, Harriet!
I have a Mau kitty too, his name is Milo, he is 2.5 years old and was a "Hells Kitchen" (shelter) kitty as well. These days you can get Mau's, Simeses, Mancoon and once I saw one of those hairless cats. These breed of cats can run 2K + but the very very very sad reality of it is that people just cannot or will not take care of their cats anymore, or they are stays/feral cats that get caught and brought to the shelter. Makes me really sad as I love every single cat in the world. I have 4 right now, I lost one to Fel Luk recently and upon being heartbroken I went out and took another cat away from Hell's Kitchen life which make me feel better about the loss of my love that passed. I did right by another from the loss of my love kitty!
My cat Hauntis fetches - I throw she brings in back, drops it at my feet
Where in upstate NY were you from?
Nice to "meet" you!
The story is that I went to the shelter to get a kitten, and ended up getting a purebred Egyptian Mau. Just like that! I was very surprised.
Hey, shout out to Albany! I have been there. The only thing I remember is driving home because I only went there on business and turned around almost the minute I got there but still. LOL!
