So apparently I *forgot* I had vacations scheduled! How do you forget that? I forgot all about my trip to FL in April AND my trip to Ireland in June! What. The. Heck!?!?!?!?

The situation was definitely FUBAR... it was so sad, and I couldn''t bring myself to tell FI, so I was just walking around with the ring on with empty prongs!

i''ve been in a hotel in sydney for 4 days now, and the internet connection is utter rubbish. keeps reconnecting every 5 minutes ''in case you''ve gone away and left it on accidentally''.

they''ve gotta be kidding...

and

i miss my dogs so much it hurts. tim and i were talking about them this morning, and i started to cry

they hate boarding, and i HATE them being in boarding. but with tim here in australia for the week, there was no other option.

i so hope they''re ok - i''d rather something happened to me than to them.

We have a boarding facility here where the dogs have individual kennels with runs onto a fake turf area that lets them see all of the other dogs. They get blankies and you can bring their toys. Every day they get group play time, they group the dogs based on how they see them getting along. The community area is also the fake turf, but they have a dog bone shaped swimming pool! And one to two people go in and play with them for a couple of hours... running around, helping dogs in and out of the pool, playing with them with toys (frisbees, rubber toys). All dogs are given baths and have their nails trimmed while they are there AND they give treats!

Is yours anything like that? It would be my doggy heaven lol

the problem with mine is that they''re not neutered/spayed as they''re show dogs. so they cant be put with other dogs.

they *are* in a run together, tho, which is better than nothing, and it''s a little bigger. we also buy each of them one play time, one ''walk-and-explore'' time and one cuddle time each day, so it''s not as if they''re completely confined all the time.

i try to tell myself that they dont mind it, but the stupid boarding faciity sends us photo updates of them every few days, and they look miserable. i hate it. normally when we travel, we take dixon with us and poppy goes to her groomer, where she lives in the house, sleeps on their bed, and is taken for long walks each day. but going to australia is a different kettle of fish, and we have to board dixon. my third dog, dapple, lives in LA so is unaffected by this.

anyway, tim is collecting them on sunday - so only 4 days to go....

Will you let me know how you like it? I have a friend that taught it here before she moved and another friend that''s done it. I''d really like to do it but my work schedule absolutely does not allow it right now. I am really trying to figure out a way to swing it if it''s as good as I''ve heard.....

We are going to close on our house at the end of March, and I just sent my DH an email telling him when my mom will be flying into town in order to help, and told him that I wasn''t sure when she was leaving...

His reply: "No worries. We’ll figure it out"

I am enjoying cohabbing.

FI folds his towels in half, I tri-fold mine. It''s nice, because we can always tell whose is whose.

FI uses tall glasses, I use the short ones.

FI uses big forks and spoons, I use the small ones.

FI uses all the beer glasses, and I use the wine glasses.

FI uses the big plates, I use the small plates.

It makes it very easy to tell who left what, where... and there''s never any conflict over our silly preferences.
