Hey don''t judge! It would only take 1 glass to get me drunk-I''m a pathetic light weight!

I'm in no place to judge... DH can't wait to get me drunk after the baby is born. I'm thinking just being in a bar might do the trick.

I'll be lucky to make it thru 2 glasses the next time I get to drink!

Ha, the fumes will get you! I used to be able to hang but now I drink about once every two months and get hammered on one screwdriver!

Somehow I also roasted a small bag of fingerling potatoes & ate them, along with way too many chocolates. Can you tell DH is out tonight?

Roasting while drunk sounds dangerous-I think you should stick to food that doesn''t need cooking! For example, when I got hammered on 2 screwdrivers last week, the hubs came home to me laying on the couch with a plate on my chest drunkenly shoveling frozen key lime pie in my face! He told me he''d never found me more attractive!

LOL! Luckily the roasting happened before the drinking. Or, perhaps, concurrently.

I am going to be SO SORRY tomorrow a.m. I''m having Post Traumatic Stress flash-forwards from the hangover to come.

Ha, it''s not too late to avoid the hangover! You just have to start chugging water and do something to keep you awake until you sober up a little! I usually like to drunkenly vacuum, drunkenly clean the litter box or drunkenly put laundry away.

Oh and don''t chug the water too fast though-that can end badly. I speak from experience!

OMG ... How did you know ... I have to do ALL OF THOSE THINGS. Instead I find myself drunkenly watching Project Runway.

I find that the best hangover ''cure'' (or preventative, rather?) is as many full glasses of water as drinks you consumed, plus two tylenol.

And once, in a fit of the drunk munchies, I ate 3/4 of a family sized bag of Lay''s Classic.

Perfect-chores a lot more fun if you''re drunk! And DAMN IT I forgot it was Project Runway night!

EBree-family sized?! Impressive! And I''ve never done the Tylenol-just the water. I hate swallowing pills but maybe it''s easier when I''m drunk! I''ll have to try it next time.

It is definitely a cultural thing peculiar to traveller communities, previously known as gypsies, here in the UK. When I was looking for someone to make my dress I visited a shop that I discovered specialised in dresses for that community. Money was literally no object and it is important to have the biggest and blingest dress. They showed me a couple of dresses they had made and they were mad! They travelled all over the country to find the biggest and best tiaras too. It is all bit baffling as generally paying income tax isn''t high on their list of priorities and generally there is no visible source of income???

Live and let live though and everyone deserves the happiest day of their lives

Ohhh, man, reading Deco''s posts are bringing back memories of my own shennanigans with wine and cheese last night.

Holly/Thing: You''re right in that this couple wanted their 15 minutes. I''m not disputing that. It''s just that this is a 16-year-old girl (now 17) being trashed by adult women. At 16, no matter how tough you think you are, it''s hard to be the butt of jokes. And, like Mere, if I see it happening, I''ll say something. It''s also hard for me to watch people make fun of other people''s cultural traditions having been on the receiving end of those jokes for many years and then choosing to study different cultures in school.

Ebree: That has to be the best slappy-smiley I''ve ever seen.

And with that, I''m going to go curl up into a ball and try to sleep a little more. Too much celebrating last night....

Some people had opinions on the dress (like you). Others had "opinions" that were impossible to tell if they were about the dress or the bride, and that''s where I think things crossed the line into adult women trashing a girl. That''s how I see it, and I don''t really care if you agree with me or not. We''re all adults that can hold different opinions, I just felt the need to stick up for somebody that wasn''t around to do it for herself.

And you know what Princesss, that would be fine if you didn''t feel the need to get on your high horse (again) talking about, ''adult women trashing'' this girl. For the record, I didn''t trash this girl - I didn''t speculate that she was any of things described before. I just simply stated that the dress was horrible, because IMO, it is.

The fact that I can''t say that really irks me. AND, the soap box thing, is very transparent.

Bia, I''m not sitting on a high horse. I feel bad for a girl my sister''s age being made fun of. That''s it.
