How should I set this indicolite?

Hi everyone! Bought this indicolite for my birthday and I would like to set it in a ring so I can look at it all day. I want a setting that isn’t going to “close up” the stone, and will highlight the color. It’s not very big, just 0.91 ct. Any advice for a newbie?

That’s a beautiful indicolite! Do you like floral designs? I set my blue tourmaline in this flower setting. It didn’t close up the color and has a lot of finger coverage.

White gold is the best for a blue-green colour, it makes it pop so much! And diamonds are the safest choice unless you are adventurous with colours. I don‘t know if anyone has pointed out the significant windowing in your stone. You are likely to see right through to your finger. I would suggest a more closed off basket at the bottom to reduce the window.

ETA: Added a photo for illustration. The leftmost ring has an open basket while the other two have variations of closed baskets.

I respectfully disagree. It depends on the stone. If the blue green color has significant grey tones, rose or yellow gokd bring out more blue. White metal can make the stone appea more grayish. If the stone has great saturation of color, any metal would do. The OP’s stone, imho, would look best in yellow gold, but that’s after I set similar colored gems in yellow.

My biggest issue with setting trillions, or pears for that matter, is that many settings only use three prongs. If you want your stone secure, I would do custom v-prongs or double prongs.
