If this was true then we should ask the Obama admin why was there no investigation?

Good news in this article even if it is a little late. Thank you. I wonder if the overwhelming thought that Clinton would win played into the silence on what was going on before the election? If not then what was it? Hopefully the bipartisan report will give some answers.

If so this is a sad reason because citizens have to deal with the fallout of the hacking and the government has a much bigger issue to manage now with more cost involved. Because of people playing politics. That goes for all sides. This Fact Check piece makes that claim as one of the reasons.

To me the constant stream of people getting worked up into hysteria does nothing to help the situation other than creating a constant divide between our citizens. And the media feeds it. I am glad Mueller has done what he has so far. I hope what has come out will set a fire under our agencies that are supposed to be keeping tabs on all the foreign entities that would like to see the fall of the US. Trump is an idiot in his manner but I do not wish for him to fail and never have. Those who do are by extension wishing demise of the US as well. You (collective) can hate him all you want but that doesn't turn into impeachment or any other situation that gets him out of office. Unless Mueller comes up with some crime that will get through the Senate as an impeachable offense then he is there until January of 2020. I am all for protest and having your voice heard but things like the Uber driver that refused to serve three young black DC interns because of their politics is completely and utterly ridiculous, and very SAD. If that is the world you want to live in then I guess you can have it. Glad I am getting older and may not live to see it come to fruition but I feel for my kids. Intolerance is intolerable. I cannot imagine being so bound up in politics, it must be like being constipated 24/7.
If he fails then by extension it hurts the US. Bill Maher wants the economy to fail because it will hurt Trump and people agree with him. We can see things differently without the reactions that otherwise rational people would have both from the extreme right and left. Would you refuse to serve someone because of their politics? I wouldn't unless they were belligerent or violent. Do you like this particular manifestation of that schism? No they are not. Trump is an elected official, arguably the of the worst in living memory. Wanting him and HIS POLICIES to fail, is no more synonymous with "wishing the demise of the US" (which I could label as having a pretty hyperbolic "hysterical" tone too) than elected-official Trump being synonymous with America. It simply means many people - myself include - absolutely do not want the vision of America that you do. It's two diametrically opposed world views. And it's just the latest hot manifestation of the same schism we've been dealing with since the beginning.

Oh my goodness T. I feel so bad for you having all this trouble with your jaw. Please please please have something be good news on Monday! I am doing well and things are pretty good in these parts for now. DH has his first colonoscopy next month so I will be glad to have that over with after my mess.@redwood66 ((RED)) how are you girl? I've been deep into the throes of jaw pain, blah blah blah.. now have osteomyelitis of the jaw and am going to meet with an infectious disease specialist Monday, I dunno Red, dunno, I've been seeing an oral surgeon for 2 years, on antibiotics 4ever. Hopefully I will get some relief finally. enuf! of moi.
I have done lots of thought on this whole never ending story (not the movie!) and my take is that we all know what Trump is.. I don't think he really was personally involved in the Russians screwing over Clinton, I think Obama did what he could, but not enough I think. I think the job Mueller has done is stellar, as we are thisclose to finding out the whole story. My wish is that Trump would not appear to side with Putin, I think he does this because he wants Russia as a trading partner. I think Trump has no moral compass and really can't understand why people like me are aghast at his cozying up to Putin and complete disregard for our long term allies. While a minority of American's elected this bozo, he's ours till 2020 and maybe beyond. A minority of people wanted this blithering idiot, with uncontrollable lying and insults etc, why? Well because that is where we are at. So many Americans have deep seated anger at people of color for the freebies they think blacks received (and Mexicans etc).. the recession hurt hurt hurt rural America, many things that the states that went to Trump had percolating come to the forefront during the 16 election, there are extreme Trump voters but most are not, they are people that didn't/couldn't change, people who felt that being white and christian was being pushed aside for the new liberal order and their long held and cherished beliefs in God and country were being trampled. Hopefully in 2020 whichever party wins, they put a champion up, like Alice in Wonderland, someone who can ride and rope'em for the US and for us. Enough of my what my mom would call 'pontificating'.. hope all is well in your neck of the woods girl.
All those things you have typed Callie are the same things I feel about the Dems. Kavanaugh is an excellent jurist period. He cannot do anything by his lonesome to save Trump if actual criminal offenses are found so that thought is irrational imo. His judicial record proves he follows the Constitution and written law.
Standing up against what? An agency that cannot deal with too many people coming here illegally and no place to house them? A law that was put in place by an Obama appointed judge during Obama's term that says kids cannot be held more than a very short period of time? And when recently asked to rescind it so kids could be kept with their parents while housed she said no? What dems really want is business as usual with releasing these people coming here illegally expecting them to return to some far in the future court date that they never show up for. No thank you. Turn them around at the border just like Obama did. Neither party has the balls to do what needs to be done on immigration. You are the problem in my eyes. People need to follow the process if they want to come here and wait in line.
As for alienating allies, previous presidents should have been more forceful on expectations of other countries paying their share of NATO and UN expenses. The US cannot continue to foot the bill.
Trump said he will be forceful with Putin on the recent indictments. That remains to be seen. I can wait to see and then we can decide.
I need to respond to this. There are other solutions than the two extremes you present here of either detain them all and therefore separate the children vs. release them all willy-nilly into our country. As just one example, the statistics I've seen for subsequent court appearance for those who are fitted with ankle monitoring bracelets prior to conditional release is better than 99%. The current administration has deliberately chosen the cruelest option, while stating publicly that they are doing so as a "deterrent" to people even attempting to come here, legally or illegally, all the while painting the situation as being black-and-white, either/or, when it is not. It is a complex problem - not black-and-white, not all-or-nothing. Black-and-white, all-or-nothing thinking is a cognitive dissonance that does not help solve problems.
And speaking of all-or-nothing thinking, in this statement you have in one brush-stroke painted all "dems" as all thinking and wanting the exact same extreme thing. As one of them, I strive to get the best information that I can from as unbiased sources as I can manage - meaning no Fox News OR MSNBC, etc. - and to think for myself. My husband is the same way. We know many others, of both parties, who are the same way. I have voted for candidates from both parties at various times in the past, based upon what I believe their qualifications and likely tendencies are in relation to what I perceive as the most critical needs at the time, as well as a long-term vision. I don't appreciate the broad-brush painting any more than I can imagine you would appreciate being painted by similar statements about Republicans or Trump voters. It's not helpful - it adds to the divide among our citizenship, discourages listening to others and considering the usefulness of what they are offering on an individual basis, and makes solving these complex issues more difficult. I respectfully submit that this particular behavior on your part adds greatly to "the problem in my eyes," to quote you.
It is nothing but politics. I am extremely happy about his SCOTUS picks and his view on doing more about the long overdue imbalance at NATO. Plenty agree with me. No president pleases everyone all the time and if they do then one is a sycophant like some Trump or Obama supporters probably are. If you think everything that Trump has done is a disaster then you are not viewing it with an open mind or you just don't like it. I never thought that way of Obama. Some of Trump's other policies only time will tell about how it all shakes out, trade, etc.I can't relate to the "I don't get worked up by politics" argument. This isn't political. Trump is a frigging disaster- doesn't matter what party you represent. If you think he's doing a good job then it's not your "political view" you should reexamine.
I would welcome any new ideas to get people to show up at their court dates.
As to your second paragraph I was responding to the post who made the same charges with a broad brush. No two wrongs don't make a right. I am the problem according to her in her post and we have had skirmishes over political views in the past. Republicans are constantly painted with the broad brush on PS if you have been following, as the politics on here are full of all or nothing and black and white thinking which I have noted repeatedly in the past. Your observations of this single post of mine don't hold. People are individuals and are to be treated as such, when they are a positive force and when they are negative.
I am sorry you were offended by my broad brush that was intended as a response to someone else.
Thank you for your kind response. The polarization is so disheartening to see and I agree with your thoughts.I appreciate your response, and I apologize if I inserted myself inappropriately in a dialogue not meant to include others. I agree that broad-brush, black-and-white thinking is not helpful from anyone, towards anyone. I know it can be hard to refrain from, and if I'm honest, I've been guilty of it many times throughout my life. (As well as other cognitive dissonances - hence me eventually needing so badly to learn to recognize them! ) I'm very grateful that you're open to new ideas. I'm so desperately hungry for that, for a rolling-up-of-sleeves, let's-sort-this-out, I-understand-I'll-need-to-compromise-some meeting of the minds amongst our politicians and average everyday persons alike. Perhaps it is naive or childish on my part, but it's wearing on my soul to see so much unkindness, so much emphasis on others as enemies, so much political strategizing for personal gain, all while those who are innocent and vulnerable continue to suffer in so many ways because we're not moving forward as a country and making real progress on so many problems.

The problem for me, aside from the fact that he has no dignity and has no respect for others, is that he lies so much. Yesterday he denied something he said in public only hours before and called it fake news. Forget him not having a moral compass, he does not appear to have any compass at all. I can’t think of him as president, not because it is repugnant, but because he is more like an insubstantial cartoon character than a man.
It is the only reason that the Ds can win back the WH in 2020.If he fails then by extension it hurts the US. Bill Maher wants the economy to fail because it will hurt Trump and people agree with him.
CC. Did you really expected Trump to pick a liberal judge to replace Kennedy?@redwood66
Do you sincerely believe Trump didn’t pick Kavanaugh for the simple reason he believes you shouldn’t indict a sitting president?
CC. Did you really expected Trump to pick a liberal judge to replace Kennedy?
BTW as to hysterical, if I were putting memes and hate Clinton/Obama things up on PS all day for months on end I would think me hysterical. But that's just me.
I don't know the kind of people you speak of who had "deep seated anger against people of color" and the thought is so foreign to me.
