Hope the President does a good job for USA

Again, it has nothing to do with her beliefs, it's her actions. Her actions are not "perceivably" heinous, they are objectively heinous.
This is your opinion.

I saw a meme once that said "political parties are religions" which seems to be the case these days. It is very sad indeed if people choose not to interact because the other person is a member of another political party.

Absolutely nothing to do with political parties either. I have dear friends who are republican who also agree that Huckabee is despicable.

People's "politics" aren't an abstract concept that exists only at election time. Their politics reflect their world view and how they think the world should be. If they think the world should be hateful and that not everyone is entitled to basic human rights, then they won't be a friend of mine and I won't make any effort to interact them regardless of which party they belong to.

My thoughts?

My thoughts are sad for her. When dr dx her with a missed miscarriage, a pharmacist decided that he would endanger her physical and mental health because other people might use the medication she had been described to abort what he considered to be a living person. (Despite the fact her baby was no longer alive)

That poor woman should not have had to explain anything and it was none of that walgreens employees business to make her explain a darn word. He insulted a grieving mother and caused her more distress than she was already experiencing.

He sounds like the hypocrites who dont care at all about a living being but simply care about **controlling ** women's bodies.

I am sorry she had to experience the loss of a baby she had so hoped for. I understand the grief of finding that your child has passed away even before he/she had a chance to be born.

Each of my pregnancies is carefully planned and monitored. By 14 dpo I had started blood work to ensure the hormone levels were correct and everything was ok as far as It can be. I cut out all caffeine products, never drank, changed my diet, took a prescribed prenatal vitamin, exercise ect.

With all of my children by 10 weeks-13 weeks I have had a list of potential names, I have pictures in frames from the 1st ultrasound around 8 weeks. I have a room in my home for them. They were/are wanted. They were/are a precious hope of a beautiful future ahead with a person of great value and potential.

A loss at 10 -13 weeks is a tragic loss for many women. Those who have issues with fertility and spend literally THOUSANDS to even get pregnant, it is also devastating.

I am all for religious freedom but if you are a pharmacist you provide what has been prescribed. You dont get to tell grieving mothers who will already be crying for weeks that you want them to ALSO risk infection. When miscarrages are not complete naturally about 3% of women will get an infection and require a d&c.

It is terrible he was willing to risk that becuase he thought it was his place to CONTROL a womans body.
It is a heated issue for many people but this case is straight forward. The woman with a missed miscarriage was not stopping a beating heart.

I hope the pharmacist never has to be in a situtation where his wife / gf has to risk getting an infection from a mmc because some pharmacist thinks they know better than a dr and a grieving mother.

What do I think of that pharmacist? Frankly anyone who would further upset a woman who just learned her baby had passed away should find a new job. I would not employ a person who thought it acceptable to further upset a grieving mother and who thought he had a right to make medical decisions for her body. IMO It makes him a hypocritical P.O.S.

People's political views are usually determined by their personal views of how they feel the country's government should function, at least mine are. I don't believe that SHS thinks those things you listed though.

She lies to the American people. That is not my opinion it is fact. It is my opinion that a press secretary that lies for an immoral administration acts heinously. If that's not your opinion, I'm sorry. I wouldn't want to live in your world either.

I* * * if I owned the place I would not have refused to serve her even though I think she is a disgusting individual who should feel nothing but shame for the lies she perpetrates. I would have told her exactly what I thought of her and hopefully she would leave of her own volition.
Really? I despise Trump (and am no fan of Ms. Huckabee), but were I a customer in that intimate restaurant, that kind of vocal grandstanding on the part of the restaurant proprietor would have prompted me to push myself away from the table and out the door. Unless I knowingly attend a fundraiser of a partisan nature, I don't go out to dinner in the hope of hearing political diatribes -- of any stripe.

(The owner of The Red Hen asked Ms. Huckabee to come out to the patio, out of the earshot of others.)

Were you as rigid with Jay Carney and George Stephanopoulos? I actually liked Tony Snow best of all. The point was the service in a restaurant. Everything else is personal opinions.

I wouldn't be loud about it. But yes, I would most definitely take the opportunity to tell her straight to her face that I find her actions as press secretary despicable. "Hello Ms Huckabee, I am the owner of this restaurant. As a citizen of this country I am compelled to tell you that your willingness to lie for an immoral administration is despicable. Good day." Hardly a diatribe.

"Hello Ms. Clinton, I am the owner of this restaurant. As a citizen of this country I am compelled to tell you that your willingness to lie to the American people is despicable. Good day."

Words that would never come out of my mouth. She could be seated and treated with respect as a human being.

No, the point was: she wasn't denied service because of her political party. I don't know what being "rigid" with political operatives means so I can't answer that. I will admit I enjoyed this interview with Stephanopoulos calling her out on her lies!

Back to the tomato to-mah-to thing. She is a member of the Republican party and works for the POTUS. You are parsing words.

To do what the proprietor did is not how I want my world to be.

Well we both must be pretty bored today to be debating such trifles as Sarah Huckabee's dining experiences. If ever there was a time to sport Melania's jacket, this is it! After all, we both live in a world where a corrupt, immoral, lying, misogynist, gold-star family denigrating, war hero shaming, contractor-stiffing, racist sympathizing man is president AND he enjoys the vehement and undying support of about 1/3 of our fellow American citizens. Who really cares if Ms Huckabee had to settle for takeout one night?

Now now, be fair. Both sides do it! :naughty: Remember when Obama made fun of a disabled reporter? Or that time he bragged about grabbing women by the p? And don’t forget when he called ball players SOBs for civil disobedience, or when he saluted the generals of North Korea.

Oh wait...

Emails! Benghazi! Uranium One! :eek2:

Thank you so much for this posting, Jpie. I never even thought about this...how it would be impossible even to imagine President Obama doing any of those things. I have become so used to President Trump, that I just accept him as he is. I get angry, of course, but I have gotten used to living in a bizarre world and it is odd to reflect on what the world was like before he came into power.

Yep I am pretty bored. DH and sons are gone to visit his parents. I'll pass on the rest of your post as I do most of the political stuff on here. Have a nice week MariaD ;))

Have any dog and/or horse photos? (You know I love Nic.) You could post some to the delight of all in either my new dog thread or the Random Comments thread if you are bored and alone. Just a suggestion. <Hint> <Hint>

We can’t let this become the new normal, which is exactly what happens when we allow the conversation to be derailed by bothsiderism. No one has sullied the presidency to the extent that Trump has, and continues to every day.

Remember, this is not normal, and this is the type of discourse that Trump encourages:

Trump's tarriffs are really going to screw everything up....

You were right, ceg. Look at this...

"Harley-Davidson, the American motorcycle manufacturer, said on Monday that it would shift some production of its iconic bikes overseas to avoid retaliatory tariffs imposed by the European Union in response to President Trump’s trade moves.

The decision, announced in a public filing, is the latest and most high-profile example of how Mr. Trump’s trade war is beginning to ripple through the United States economy as domestic companies begin struggling with a cascade of tariffs both here and abroad. While Mr. Trump says his trade policy is aimed at reviving domestic manufacturing, Harley-Davidson’s decision shows how the administration’s moves could have the unintended effect of reducing employment and economic growth in the United States."

If a picture is worth a thousand words, how many words is a video that is artistically made to go along with an actual audio recording worth? In this case the three videos made are, in my opinion, priceless!

The videos are made to go along with actual audiotapes of Donald Trump and they are very creative!
Each one is on a different topic. Visually, I liked the second one of him and Putin the best, but I almost died laughing at the third one about the Oval Office! Trump is such a doofus! (The spellcheck is trying to tell me "doofus" isn't a word, but I am sure it has been accepted when I put it through as a diagnosis for patients in the past.) ;))

"Give Chuck Schumer some credit . Waters will destroy the Dem. party all by herself."

Ha! That's something I'd definitely look forward to.

...and then there is that shining example of purity and honesty on a hill: Donald Trump. Clean, bright, a knight in shining armor. Someone who NEVER threatens anyone and never casts aspersions. Is it too much to say he is Christ-like? He inspired ttis woman in her rant at the two Mexicans doing yard work. He certainly inspires me.

Having seen this story today, I was not surprised. This is the kind of hateful paranoia which will be released more and more. If the prez can make these character damming accusations, has no filter, then why should they? Because he is ‘iconic’ to them, they follow leaving common sense behind.

Tomato To-mah-to. Perhaps the proprietor needs a sign in her window so no one of the perceived incorrect beliefs enters the establishment. Is that where we want to go? If you don't want me there then I would like to know ahead of time.
"We reserve the right to refuse service to Trump supporters"

I had to LOL yesterday when Paul Ryan (the guy who seems to have permanently put his balls in the freezer, and can’t say a word against Trump no matter what awful things he does) called for the Maxine Waters to apologize, and yet says nothing regarding the way Trump behaves on a daily basis.

Republican Steve King refused to take down a post he retweeted by a Neo Nazi or apologize for it.

Leadership starts at the very top. Trump sets the tone for the rest of the country. He demeans and bullies everyone who isn’t a white male. His wife wears a coat that says “I don’t care, do you?” right before going to see children that have been separated from their parents. This is the same woman who started a Be Best campaign. The hypocrisy of this administration is unbelievable. None of this is what we should accept from our President or First Lady, and yet his base defends him.

Is it really a surprise that decent people are fed up and don’t want to stay silent? I have no idea what the answer is. I have always believed in when they go low, we go high but at this point this administration doesn’t seem to have a too low. They are doing terrible damage to children and justify their actions with bible verses. Shouldn’t we all be outraged and shouting it from the rooftops? The pictures of the camps they are setting up to put people in look like the camps Hilter used.

Only 6 of the children separated from their families have been reunited. I can’t get too worked up that Sarah Sanders was asked to leave a restaurant. She didn’t seem to have a problem when a gay couple was denied a cake.

I adore the faux outrage! "Well how uncivil! Guess my conservative business isn't wanted!"

Good lord, could these people be less self aware? The privilege! Or is it only snowflakey when liberals complain lol

snip... Shouldn’t we all be outraged and shouting it from the rooftops? ...snip

Yes, we should all be outraged. It does make you want to shout from rooftops, but I don't think what Waters seems to be advocating will produce desired results. What's needed is the strategy the Tea Party used in 2009. They confronted their elected reps at town hall meetings and then showed up en masse to vote. Badgering McConnell as he tries to leave a dinner only turns his wife into a conservative media hero.

IMO, Dems/liberals need to spend much more energy in the traditional political process. Call (not just email) representatives, protest at their offices, be vocal at their town hall meetings and for cryin' out loud --- VOTE! And not just in major elections, all of them!
