If you haven’t read Comey’s book, I highly recommend it. I believe he is sincerely trying to help Americans move past our current partisanship, toward shared values like fairness and honesty. It’s a broader book than you might think based on what’s been talked about in reviews.

Attorney cohen is either an expert with some mad skills we are not aware of

Or trump is literally doing pay for play

Or cohen “forgot” to register as a lobbyist!!!
My bet is the situtation is the last 2 options becuase there is no way cohen is smarter than he appears

If anyone works at hr at novartis
... Please contact me at your convenience to discuss a contractual agreement to provide non-lobbying consultative and legal services. Even if I can't do the work, you still pay though, right? A million a year sounds fair to me too!

For a country so keen and self reporting to be upfront on following the JCPOA, how is Iran able to do this?

http://www.wfsb.com/story/38134910/iran-president-uranium-enrichment-may-resume-if-deal-fails

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) - President Hassan Rouhani warned Tuesday that Iran could restart enriching uranium "without any limitations" within weeks, after President Donald Trump pulled America out of the nuclear deal, though he said world powers still in the accord could potentially save the pact.

I don't know whether Iran is able to enrich uranium within weeks for the purpose of building nuclear weapons, and a cursory check of major news outlets hasn't turned up specific answers.

Here's what I did find regarding enrichment of uranium:
https://fas.org/issues/nonprolifera...ogy/centrifuges-nuclear-weapon-proliferation/
Even moderately technically advanced nations are able to build and operate gas centrifuges for uranium enrichment. This spreading capability is creating dangerous opportunities for nuclear weapon proliferation. There are two routes to producing a nuclear weapon: one using highly-enriched uranium (HEU) and the other using plutonium. The simplest possible bomb using highly enriched uranium is easy to fabricate but, in the past, producing the uranium has been an extraordinary technical and industrial challenge.

Within the context of the Iran deal:
https://www.vox.com/world/2018/5/8/17328520/iran-nuclear-deal-trump-withdraw
Prior to the Iran deal, the P5+1 had imposed a dizzying and complex set of international sanctions on Iran as punishment for its nuclear development. The basic gist of the deal was that the sanctions would be lifted in exchange for Iran agreeing to several serious restrictions on its nuclear development. Among the most important, the deal called for:
  • Reducing Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium by 97 percent, and banning them from possessing any uranium potent enough that it could be used to fuel a bomb
  • Capping its number of nuclear centrifuges, devices used to enrich uranium, at roughly 5,000 — and only permitting it to use old, outdated, and slow centrifuges
Based on the above, either Rouhani is spouting angry rhetoric and it will take him time to amass more materials and process them for nukes, or he really can ramp up enrichment and weapons production within weeks based on his materials at hand.

ETA: I don't consider this to be irrefutable evidence that Iran was in noncompliance and the deal was a failure. It will still take time for Iran to ramp up their nuclear program if that's where this is headed.

Thanks for the links. I am skeptical of trusting Iran. If the deal was so great why was it not brought forth to Congress to validate as a treaty?

I'm skeptical of trusting Republicans in Congress to do the right thing.
Likewise am I of anyone in Congress.

Rudy Forced To Resign

Rudolph Giuliani's law firm did not like what he said about his supposed lawyering there and he had to part ways with it. They wanted no part of someone claiming to do for his clients at their firm the same things that Michael Cohen did for Donald Trump! I wonder why?

An excerpt:

"Mr. Giuliani had taken a leave of absence last month from the firm, Greenberg Traurig, to represent Mr. Trump. But the firm, one of the nation’s largest, said in a statement on Thursday that he no longer worked there.

Firm partners had chafed over Mr. Giuliani’s public comments about payments that another of Mr. Trump’s lawyers, Michael D. Cohen, made to secure the silence of a pornographic film actress who said she had an affair with Mr. Trump. The president has denied her allegations.

Mr. Giuliani suggested that such payments were common at his firm, even without the knowledge of the clients.'That was money that was paid by his lawyer, the way I would do, out of his law firm funds,' he said on Fox News. He added, 'Michael would take care of things like this like I take care of this with my clients.'"

Bwahahaha, so his law firm doesnt want everyone in it to be investigated for potential disbarment.

Rudy lies, he lies a lot. Frankly I am more shocked he is still in any law firm! He clearly doesnt have the attributes of a competent lawyer.

I am glad avenatti (sp? ) has more paperwork for cohen and the president. I bet those two have much worse , and it all needs a good dose of sunshine. trump is the literal definition of the swamp and if he isn't going to resign at the very least he needs for the facts to come out.
I hope we also get those 10 years of tax records trump promised. It has been 2 years he is still under audit for 2010- 2015 taxes??? If not he should release them

I was able to read Dan Rather's piece* (which was blessedly brief, but excellent), but I was looking forward to seeing the comments and had no access to them (possibly because I am not a subscriber?). Would you treat us to some excerpts, Matata?

*I am not sure what the problem is; I am hoping that Trump has not rubbed off on me. I have become afraid of reading long pieces of non-fiction writing. I feel as if they loom over me. That is why I felt relief at the brevity of Mr. Rather's précis.

I was also not able to see the comments in Firefox, but when I opened the link in Windows Edge, I could see them - if that's helpful..... :))

The juxtaposition of the two stories, the leering evil Kushnner and Ivanka Trump with their pastor with the hate-filled heart and the people in Gaza getting gunned down was sickening.

I have family in Israel. My great-nephew was happy that Trump was making this move. But not all Israelis are so stupid and callous. His grandmother, my sister-in-law who moved to Israel at age 16 after living through the Nazi occupation of Europe in France as a child, very much opposed opening this embassy in Jerusalem now. There are Israelis who see that Netanyahu and Trump are two of a kind.

Gunning down a terrorist (Hamas) organization is sickening?
and how soon we forget that Clinton, Bush and Obama was talking about moving our embassy to Jerusalem. All talk but no action from past Presidents. Another score for Trump!
