Thanks! I’m not sure where she is right now and am afraid to go looking to find her. :(2 I’ll wait until my hubby gets home in about an hour.

Sorry to have deviated from the thread topic.

My thoughts are with you and your kitty too :( Hope she somehow pulls through.

I just LOVE all of these collections! :kiss2: I thought I’d go ahead and share my one loose gem. I hope in a year from now to have it set. Until then, I admire.

It’s a beautiful blue sapphire from Gary at Finewater Gems. It’s 7mm round and I think 1.8 ct. I love glowy gems and this has just that.

Gary has a good eye for blue sapphires.

As someone who "found" her cat once, I totally understand where you're at emotionally. After that heartbreaking event, I used to have anxiety attacks every time I couldn't find one of my other perfectly healthy cats. Literally shaking and crying and scared to look.

I truly hope for the best for you and your obviously well loved kitty.
I'd love to see a pic.

Awwww....! Thanks so much! We love her dearly! She’s still hanging in there but is not in pain. If she were I’d bring her to the vet, but since she’s not I simply can’t make that decision. She’s at home with her people she loves.

Not only are we loosing a beloved pet, but to me she signifies my kids’ childhood. They were all young when we got her and now they are adults. It’s like the final end to an era I adored.

Thanks for asking to see her. It makes me happy to share her.

Awwwww..... sorry to hear about your kitty! I have one right now that I don’t think will make it through the weekend. I understand. It’s tough.....
Very sorry to hear that. It’s one of the hardest things in life ... losing our fur babies. I hate it.

She’s beautiful, Little Red. Sending you warm wishes for peaceful and tender moments together.

I understand what you mean about a kitty accompanying you through a certain era of your life. I read a beautiful story once by an old man tending his sweet old kitty. It was called “The Fourth Cat.” They remind us to be in the present. Be well. <3

Oh wow! Such a lovely outpouring of love! It’s funny how well wishes and understanding from strangers actually helps soothe my sadness. We have a shared experience which can bind people together even if but for a moment.

It’s morning now and I have not looked for her. If my husband has, he’s not telling me. She very well could have made it through the night. And there’s always hope..... what if she’s feeling better.... what if she ate a little bit and has more energy....

I won’t keep posting in this thread except to let you know once I know something permanent. Thank you for letting me share here. But, until then, I realized she had her eyes closed in both the pics above and I want to post her with her pretty eyes showing too.

If there’s a sun spot, she’s in it.

I can't deal with this. I have three cats and three dogs. They drive me crazy, but the love they share with us is amazing. The cats are especially intuitive and are always the first at my side if I'm having a tough day. :kiss2:

Best thoughts and hugs for you and your kitty, @LittleRed

While we wait for @LittleRed I thought I'd post my top five. My number one top top favorite is a 2.89 Tsavorite garnet that took almost 9 months to acquire. Bought from our own beautiful and talented @Phoenix and cut by Nomads. 20180608_080541.jpg 20180608_080208.jpg

I'll start a thread for it as soon as I save up some money...

The rest are in no particular order. I like them all

1.52 ct Rhodochrosite from Brad at The Gem Trader. This one is from China.

20180429_113014.jpg

2.31ct pink spinel from Dhillon Jewelry on Loupe Troop

20180521_122635_001.jpg

1.8ct pink sapphire from Sri Lanka. Not a great cut, but a beautiful color. I sent it to AGL because I bought it in Tuscon and wanted to be sure it was as described.

20180608_063948.jpg 20180608_064151_001.jpg

Another Rhodochrosite. 2.74ct from South Africa. Not a great picture.

20180204_110323.jpg

Here they are all together.

20180610_103532.jpg

It's been a long road acquiring all of these and I think I have a tiny addiction. I need a chapter of gemaholics anonymous to start up near me. :lol-2:

Thank you everyone for thinking of me during this time!!!

We were all with our beautiful and loved kitty last night when she died at 9:30. She went peacefully. It was so tough to watch her over the weekend, but in the end, she was glad to be at home with us. She stayed near us for her last few hours and even purred lightly as we pet her in her last moments. We will bury her later today when our kids get home from work.

At first I was angry she died but now I’m so grateful she got to be a part of our lives. Today we start healing.

This is a great thread and I’m glad to see it getting back to what it was meant to be. So many beautiful loose gems!

Great hugs to everyone!!!

That tsavorite is beautiful! The green is perfection.

I was pleased to read it was a long road in acquiring your special gems. So often I (and maybe others too) want to acquire as quickly as possible. Your beautiful collection is a good reminder that slow and steady is the way to go.

Thanks for sharing!

@LittleRed I'm sure your kitty knew that she was very loved as she passed from this world, and dying surrounded by loved ones is the best that any of us could hope for ourselves. I hope you and your family make peace with her passing and treasure the memories of her forever.

@suzanne2 Excellent collection :geek2: I especially liked the tsavorite and spinel. Apart from the tsavorite, the other gems were in approximately the same color palette. Does the fact that I was drawn to the spinel more than the other four indicate that I have a preference for pear cut gems? :oops2:

I'm so sorry for your loss. I just know she loved having you all around her during her final moments. It's all we can hope for as pet owners (other than having them live forever). My heart is with you today. Sending hugs.

Sorry!! I was so busy dancing around the house with that little box in my hand that I forgot to tell anyone! Psst I haven't shown my husband yet, :shifty: and it's been three weeks, so don't feel left out . He will see it eventually, it's hard to miss :lol-2:

That trillion is such a sweet pink. I have no idea what I'm going to do with it, other than admire it. Hardness of 3.5 - 4... EEK. I think it's DK pendant material. Brad has another rhodo from the Sweet Home mine and I'd love to have it as well.
