The most amazing gems are hidden in boxes and drawers of PSers.
Are you one of the PSers that love to collect stones to admire or to set in the future? Please show your top 5 hidden gems.

Unfortunately I do not have any as I have only bought stones to be set asap. I am looking forward to admire yours.

Ooh, great thread idea! I don’t have many unset stones because in the past, the relationships between stone and the human artistic vision and hand work was my primary motivator for purchasing. Thus, I bought specifically when I saw this relationship carried out. I have very few unset stones by comparison with many PS’ers, and not nearly as great or as expensive, but I’m happy to share a few of what I have.please forgive that pics are out of order with text! I’ve got a sapphire by Jason Brim at home, along with some others, but because I’m on a trip at the moment, I can only share pics of what’s on my phone photos.

Here goes.... a whitewater turquoise cab which I love. This one is going to be a pendant or ring with gold and diamonds. I just love this cab with gold.

Next, a darker spess. The picture doesn’t capture the bright orange flashes very well, but it’s a decent cut. Half between red and orange I would say. I originally wanted a ring with pink stones around it ( see inspiration stones pictured) as a casual ring. We’ll see. I think it will go to one of my daughters instead since it’s a bit too small for me. I was at a gem show and got seduced lol!

Next are these tiny star sapphires. They are quite clear with lovely colors and stars. Because they tilt, it’s almost impossible to capture all of the stars and colors at the same time. The tourmaline earrings earrings are an inspiration of what I might do with them.

Finally, a light lavender and deep blue parti sapphire. I call it ‘hall of mirrors’. Cut is not the best, but wonderful crystal. I thought it was so unique that I couldn’t not buy it. It’s next to a single sapphire that came from an earring after I lost the other one. A horrible thing to go through since they were a gift from my mother when I was 21. Maybe I’ll try to find a match in size and in hue to go with it since it goes well in shape and color. I’m all open for the possibility of an asymmetric design though with this one.

You are too kind, Acinom! Thank you! Im really loving everyone else’s pictures and inspirations. such a Great thread idea. I never fully had a ‘ stone first’ approach, though they were considered as a vital part of the ‘whole’That’s definitely being influenced now by PS!

Two pink tourmalines, opal doublet, star sapphire and peridot.
I'm excited to make something with the star. I've only had it for a few days.

After a concerted effort to set what I have, I don't have anything to show. So please start setting some of these beauties as I need to live through your projects!

Here are mine. They are all untreated. I took two pics of my peridot because the top pic is what it looks like most of the time. I just realized that the blue topaz is reflecting my blouse. It looks like an aquamarine IRL. It doesn’t look green or yellow.

Peridot- Pakistan about 3.5 carats
Aquamarine- Namibia1.6 carats
Pink Spinel-Tajikistan 1.47 carats
Gray spinel-Myanmar .97 carats
Blue topaz-Namibia 22.12 carats

Rubellite that’s around 4 cts cut by Lisa Elser, tsavorite from Gene that is 2.5 cts (I have a bigger, deeper coloured one from Prima but it’s more included), Tajik spinel from Gene that’s around 5 cts, mahenge spinel around 3.5 cts from Mayer and Watt, 5 ct pink sapphire with a deep belly that is from Gene but not cut by him (this one is okay in daylight but really comes alive at night), and 13.2 ct blue zircon from Roger Dery.

I just LOVE all of these collections! :kiss2: I thought I’d go ahead and share my one loose gem. I hope in a year from now to have it set. Until then, I admire.

It’s a beautiful blue sapphire from Gary at Finewater Gems. It’s 7mm round and I think 1.8 ct. I love glowy gems and this has just that.

One? You only have one?? What's wrong with you?? You have literally thousands of set gems. You can't yank a few out for our viewing pleasure? That ruby for example...
Also, that's a fine fine sapphire.

Thanks! I’m not sure where she is right now and am afraid to go looking to find her. :(2 I’ll wait until my hubby gets home in about an hour.

Sorry to have deviated from the thread topic.
