Help With Three Stone DK CADs PLEASE!

He emailed me again and said “More cup shaped than this?” I told him yes as long as the gallery can’t be seen from the top. I also told him to round the bottoms back out like the original LAD inspo basket. Waiting on the next revision. He still hasn’t address the tri-wire thingy or added the aquamarine surprise stone into the shank. Just wanted to update

I am going to show you what I think is a big part of the problem and hopefully this is more like what you are trying to convey to him about the center basket. When you remove the center part of the main basket that is so closed off it actually reveals a little heart there! This is not only a nice little extra added bonus to the whole basket there but it enables more light to reach the center stone and it is not so closed off if that makes sense?... Is this more like what you are trying to convey to him?



I just love how it ended up being a heart shape there!!

Yeah I am like you, I would much rather have a tiny gap which wont really be noticeable from the top anyway because the stone will push out over the top of that, than to have the basket not be open like you want it to. If it is so closed at the bottom area then that will affect how light can enter the stone and also will affect you being able to keep the stone clean as well. Just some food for thought..

You can really see the difference in the CAD's as to when it is closed up than when it is more open..

I told him pull the basket out as much as he could (without being able to see it from the top of course) and the gap was a secondary concern. Let’s see what the next CAD brings.

Model will be here Tuesday. Actually, modelS. He’s sending the final one and the one before. I didn’t ask him to so maybe he prefers one over the other and wants me to see both? Regardless, I’m so excited!

They’re here!! He sent the mask and the final design. The side stones are 5mm and I plan on using 5.5mm. Opinions welcome!

I love the final design! And those are just some cheap Chris CZ’s I got to test out sizes I wanted to wait for the model before I ordered the moissanite, and I’m glad I did because I’m seriously considering going smaller!

Maybe 5/7/5? Or even 4.5/6.5/4.5 Yikes!!!!

See, that was my exact thought. I’ll wear it every day and never swap it out. I don’t want anything too ostentatious or OTT, so I think I’ll go down to at least 5/7/5 but maybe even smaller. I hope that doesn’t mess with the design!

Ok, I took pics paired with my bezel band, and some by itself. I spray painted the model silver Anyone who ever gets this green plastic, I highly recommend painting it to get a better visual! Made such a huge difference.

What do you ladies think? I also ordered some smaller CZs to play with sizes. I need to get some gold paint too so I can decide between metal colors, because I’m kinda loving the silver/white gold. We shall see!

I am so totally a white gold Gal! Didn't used to be though..Only would wear yellow gold but as I got older something in me changed about and colors with the tone of my skin so I love white metals now and have for years. They just look better on me but that is a personal preference.

YES!! Spray painting the model made a huge difference in the way that you can visualize it. Kudos on that!! I would keep trying on the size stones that you have now for a few days or at least until your other ones arrive from Chris.. IMO I think those sizes look great on your fingers but if you feel that it is too over the top for you, then going down in size might be the best thing to do and I don't see it being a problem to adjust that with DK.

I just know me, and I’m afraid I’ll be hiding my hand all the time. I got some cheap CZ earrings off amazon. It’s a 6 pack in graduating sizes from 3-8mm so I can try a few. For $5 and guaranteed delivery Friday it was a no-brainer.

Ever since I started wearing jewelry in my teens I always wanted silver or white gold. Yellow was “old lady-ish” and dated to me, but I’ve really come to appreciate it. I’m still gonna paint it to make sure though. I may hate it! $3 spray paint is a much smaller risk than an $850 setting. Lol!

I’m thinking 5/7/5 will probably be my sweet spot, but I may surprise myself! The fact that smaller stones can sit lower appeals to me too. It’s 7.5mm tall right now, so it’s got presence for sure!

Haha! Thanks!!! It made such a big visual difference so I’m just happy I thought of it! I have to see things before I can make decisions, so this was a perfect solution.

I’ll be posting more pics with gold paint and different size stones so stay tuned!
