Help with custom Victor Canera halo engagement ring!!

I am super glad you love your ring! there must be no better feeling than looking down and loving!!

I did try to contact ERD on the advice of a few posters but I haven't had any response (I at least wanted to discuss some stones) via their website. As I am in the UK and cant easily call the US I have been discussing the stones now with GOG as they are good at replying by email. I do know that a few other satisfied ERD customers have said that it is best to phone ERD and if I was in the US I would have but for me here in the UK I kinda need someone who can converse by email happily enough! I do have to say though that I have a good few threads bookmarked on here where I have thought ERD did a brilliant job with halos and stones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are some very lucky ladies, including you, with beautiful pieces and interesting to know that there was in your opinion not a million miles of difference in the finished product.

If I had been getting my stone from ERD I think I would have considered the setting from them as well as I think they price offered on the setting is lower if the stone is being purchased also and logistically it makes things a whole lot easier but for me trying to get the info on the stones from them wasn't working so well and I didn't like that a lot of the info wasn't there on the sight (GIA report pictures etc) but as I said that is purely because I am in the UK!

^Thanks so much and I certainly understand your point of view. No need to justify your reasons for the choices you've made. I'm sure that your ring will turn out beautifully and I can't wait to hear an update :)
 
To add to Momhappy post, I also used ERD (Chris) and when I saw Momhappy's ring, I knew that was the one.
FYI, I never spoke to Chris on the phone, it was all thru email, and I still have not spoken to Chris on the phone, so he can be very responsive. Also, used my wife's center stone, they were fine with that and did not raise the price of the setting. I am sure your halo will be beautiful and looking forward to seeing the hand shots in due time.
ps. ERD was less expensive than SK or VC by a long shot, and the quality is fantastic as Momhappy said.
 
I will certainly pop updates on here Momhappy. Anyway, if you are interested, here is a vid of the stone I am looking at getting from GOG - a S1 I colour 1.4 ct - compared with a 1.16 G (which is a new ideal optic 8 main modified brilliant GOG's new signature cushion).

I really like the look of it from the vid, feel free to watch..check it out. When I asked for the vid to be shot I had wanted those two compared to a not 'in house' 1 ct H S1 but it was shot without it...Jon asked today if I still wanted to see that and he would call it in but I like the 1.04 I in the vid so much I am thinking its the one....comments welcome tho! :tongue:

Willy did you email through the site? Its strange that you had replies if I have used the site 3 times now to request pictures/videos/certs and never had a response (and I have checked my spam folder)
 
fashionbee! The diamonds are both beautiful as Jon has stated in the video!

Both eye clean too ( Jon confirmed in the video)

In my own personal opinion I prefer the G/SI1 but that's because I'm very very sensitive to color and from my experience I would only go down to H as a color ( this is very subjective of course!). But Jon did state that there is a marginally difference between the two facing up.... i guess you have to pick the one where you are most comfortable with.

I don't want/mean to confuse you... but have you looked at this one from GOG? H/VVS2 , 5.5K

Hi Kathness good to here from you again.

You are totally right and to be honest I am not especially colour sensitive, for me cut was thee number one priority then size so to get those two I knew colour and clarity would come down but im fine with that as long as eye clean and I am pretty happy with the cut of this one. Before Jon shot it he did say it was an 'optical powerhouse' lol!!!! So I was expecting good things and luckily he didn't let me down!

Have to say have loved GOG so far!!!!!!! As you know Kathness this buying from across the pond thing is tough but I just feel GOG have made it that bit easier so far anyway!

I liked the facet pattern better of the I S1 which I was surprised about as I thought I would like the 1.16 G better as it was 8 main (though it is still cushion modified brilliant) and possibly a better cut stone higher clarity colour etc but I when I saw the vid I just loved the I S1...go figure!

Anyway pretty much think I am going for it.

I checked our your link, thanks for that but specs make a little too rectangle for my purposes, the one I have is bordering on what I would tolerate as wanted quite a square shape...

GOG seem to be the best place to buy cushions! I'm sure they won't disappoint!

As for my ring it should of been finished yesterday and shipped!!!
 
Yes Kathness I agree from what I have read they seem to be at least one of the best. I did contact ERD before I paid for my GOG stone just to explore all avenues (by email this time instead of thorugh the website) and Mark advised that they have problems with the website. He got back to me but it was a little while later and by that time I had already paid for the GOG stone. He then sent emails with a GIA report but I couldnt open it so I asked for the dimensions and a picture and got he picture but no dimensions etc. So personally I just felt overall so far GOG have been extremely responsive and quick to reply and as an overseas buyer that is exactly what I need/require.

Anyway I cant beleive its moved on this much now and I am looking forward to your SMTB thread about your ring when you get it!!!!!!!!!!!
