Hi! We bought a halo setting for an engagement ring and are changing the center from .7 carats to 1 to fill the space. We bought an H si2 in a rush but now see the certificate says it has a knot. We bought it for 4900. I found a second one online that seems much cleaner and one grade better in color at a G. It is only $150 more. I can see an inclusion but wonder if that can be covered by the prong. Which stone is better? Which is a better value? Diamond photo is the G

Neither of the stones is that great. Did the jeweler tell you that a 1 carat stone would fit in the halo? Normally a 6.45mm 1 carat stone would not fit in
a setting that holds a 5.7mm .7 stone.

The new stone you found is too deep and an SI2 with twinning wisp may have reduced light return due to the wisp. You would really need to see it in person
or have it evaluated by the gemologist on site. Where are you looking at these stones?

Thanks for the reply. The halo was made for a .95-1.11 carat. We were in sticker shock at the price of 1 carat and went with .7. There is a large gap around it.

We are looking at Jared and will need to buy there. Budget is 5k max so trying to find a decent stone for that price that fills the space in the halo.

Unfortunately there arent quality stones at Jared. They sell poorly cut stones 99% of the time. Are you tradinf in your stone? If not, then you can buy from a much better source with better stones for the money.

Did you purchase the ring and 0.7ct centre recently? Are you still in the Returns period?
