Help pls 2 carat ring returned- white line around stone?!

Hi all
I hope this community can help me understand why my diamond ring has returned from the jewellers after band was resized with a white ring around the stone head ? It looks like a thin cut around the stone but In white ?

Do you have pictures of the stone? Is it a reflection all the way around?

Sounds like girdle reflection
