Which would you choose for approximately the same price?

Depth 62.1 /62.3
Table 56 / 57
Crown 33.5 / 34.5

No fluorescence

Depth 62.6 / 62.7
Table 56 / 56
Crown 36 / 35
Pavilion 40.8/41.2
Faint fluorescence

Other recommendations also welcome. I am not really willing to spend much time on this so I don’t want to get loose diamonds unless someone says I’ll save a ton of money :)

Thanks!

I'll have to say neither one, unfortunately.

Here are the measurements you need to stay within when looking at GIA Excellent cut stones to have the best light return.

table: 54-58
depth: 60-62.3
crown angle: 34-35.0 (or up to 35.5 if the pavilion angle is 40.6)
pavilion angle: 40.6-40.9 (might be able to go to 41.0 if the crown angle is 34.0)

You can see the numbers of the stones you listed do not fall into this range. It's very important not to go to deep or diameter can suffer making the stones look smaller face up than they should.

Are you even looking at these carefully? The second stone image shows black inclusions right in the center and there is no photo for the first one. You can't buy SI2 diamonds without photos or videos of the stones.

You will have to spend a little time on this if you want decent stones. These are all loose stones. They often are more accurately matched when chosen individually. But it is essential to have photos of any diamonds, and especially low clarity. People would be happy to help you, but sort through and only look at stones with photos, and keep them within the measurements I gave you in my previous post.

Appreciate the help and I will look more. But please take it easy on me, I have zero knowledge of diamonds and thought just getting the numbers close would do the job. I have no clue what inclusions are.

Okay, here's some basic information about clarity. Inclusions are the specific clarity characteristics in a diamond such as clouds, crystals, feathers (cracks), etc. Most people want what we call eye-clean stones, and that means you can't see the inclusions with your eyes. You might want to read through the basic info to help you on this search. It's not necessary to do a huge amount of study by any means, especially if you stay within my measurements. However, in regard to clarity, many SI2 stones will have visible inclusions, so that is why pictures are needed. I'd suggest looking at SI1, as you have a better chance of finding eye-clean stones. These stones were priced low probably because of visible inclusions. We are happy to help you narrow things down once you select a few more.

Keep in mind that you want diameters to be very close, and I'd want my tables (the top flat area on a diamond) to be relatively close, like 55-56 or 56-57, etc.

Also, it's important to realize that @diamondseeker2006 is right about these being loose stones. These aren't set in earrings, and won't come that way. So if you are looking for a pre-made pair, you'll need to find an alternative.

Got it, thanks. I believe these can can be set in earrings on the website - you just choose it when you check out.

@milly you are totally right. But that can be done on whiteflash, james allen, and many other jewelers. Just wanted to give you a head's up!

What is your desired budget for the stones themselves, or for stones + settings?

Thanks - I was hoping for a little bit bigger. This is my push present about 1.5 years late! I like 1.4-1.5 ct size but was hoping to spend around $4000, $4500 max.

Call IDJewelry in NYC. Tell them pricescope sent you and what you're looking for. They'll. Do all the legwork, and you'll have a blazing pair of earrings.

Agreed. This is the route I’d go. Ask for Yekutiel and tell him your budget, desired color/clarity, and that you want pricescope quality diamonds. He’ll tell you what’s possible and then find you some great options!

We’re at ID jewelry right now and they’re trying to sell us non-GIA certified diamonds.

What do people think about this?

Are they AGS certified ?

I can't see ID jewelers selling diamonds that are not GIA or AGS certified.
Keep in mind they are a trusted vendor on PS and recommended.

Are they AGS certified? AGS is also excellent. Perhaps make it clear to the seller the you need to have a report from either GIA OR AGS

Sorry @jp201845 ! posted then my page uploaded and read your message

haha yes indeed!!

I realize that you’re gone from IDJewelry by now, but if you told them you’re a pricescoper, they know the kinds of cut criteria to show you. They also have ASET and idealscopes so you can see how a stone performs.

I believe psers have bought uncerted diamonds from IDJ. Especially for earrings.

Do let us know how it went!

I wouldn't buy diamonds uncerted for earings or an engagement ring it's not recommended.

Thank you!

We ran the diamonds through the HCA tool and it was fascinating, they were rated the same for 4Cs but one was green and one was red.

So the husband went back today armed with detailed cut requirements etc and says he did well - we’ll see when Christmas comes! We did insist on the GIA rating.
