I haven't seen this particular type of bezel WWW on Pricescope yet - there is this substantial metal rim that could hold engraving, of course ... (imagine engraving instead of colour in this WWW - & perhaps a more open gallery too)
Thank you, valeria101 and rocky salamander! I'll have to search for more bezels with engraving to see if that would be something I could live with long-term. I do love colored stones and have many rings with colored centers. I think a halo with rubies similar to the sapphire halo you posted, rockysalamander, would be gorgeous against the whiteness of the diamond center. My biggest fear is getting something that I tire of after awhile.
Another one for sale at JbG; a vintage setting similar to the antique pear halo ring I used to own. Do you think this style could be adapted to a round?
Apacherose's ring is very much the round version of the vintage style I'm moving towards. Wow, is this ring a stunner! Made by Sebastien Barier and set with an 8.1mm stone, 2.12 I VS1 . . .
Well, I've decided to put the diamond up for sale. At the end of the day, although I think this is a fantastic diamond, I've come to the conclusion that it is not my heart's desire. I've decided instead to pursue a larger antique cushion. While I'm searching one out, I'll set the five frenchies I've been holding on to since last year. Thanks to everyone who gave me advice and design ideas. You're the best!!
