This is probably the harder part, I need a setting and some advice...

I always thought I would of wanted the Tiffany style setting, but I’m not a fan of the gap it creates. I thought I could overlook it, but I can’t.

Another factor is I bought the diamond from WF and I thought I would have it set there as well. Unfortunately, none of the settings wow me. Maybe it’s because I can’t see them in person and try them on? I really wanted to have the diamond purchased and set at WF, but it doesn’t seem likely.

So I looked online and I found these options:

I like the fact that it would have a flush/flusher look, but is it a “risky” setting? It looks a little flimsy. I don’t expect to be changing tires with it on, but I don’t want to be worried about the diamond breaking off.

I also found this setting, which needs some tweaks for me to like. Mainly the prong orientation.

Thoughts and opinions appreciated.

@Jade217 What is the budget for the setting? Pretty solitaire design!

Or, i'd ask your WF rep how they can modify something to make it fit flush to a wedding band. They do customizations for like $250

I'd have WF set it in a Vatche U113 (tiffany replica), or have their knife-edge 6-prong setting modified (softened knife edge. I have this ring and love it) and pair it with a wedding band like this for a flush fit:

Oh I like that band! I was thinking about another Cartier love ring though and my fingers are kind of short. I think I’m running out of space .

I also want a setting that is thin as in depth? I don’t want it to stick out past my wedding band/spacer. I actually like how this spring form line ups with my other rings. Maybe I can make it my setting, jk lol.

FYI: I know in the picture it looks like my rings can go further down, but they can’t.

Hmmmmm...nothing set in stone.
Haha ok not difficult at all :lol-2:

My suggestion is to reach out to Steven Kirsch and ask for a quote based on your inspiration photos. I have worked with him on the behalf of a friend and cannot say enough positive things about him. His communication is always easy and prompt and his work is stunning. He completed my friend’s halo setting in about 2 weeks. Recently, she damaged her shank; her husband dropped off the ring at SKs office at 2pm and the ring was repaired by EOD. Amazing!

What I see you want is minimalistic and delicate solitaire with clean and soft lines. You will need to decide if you want a cathedral style (2nd inspo setting) or a Tiffany style solitaire (1st inspo setting).

@SimoneDi
Thanks for the suggestions. I’ve heard great things about SK. He’s on the high end tier, but I’m not sure I’m ready to commit to the custom route.

I was kind of hoping to be able to just find something I really love without going to the custom route. I know for some people custom is great, they get to choose what they want and everything goes perfectly.

I’m a visual person though and it kind of scares me that I’m not going to see the end product before I commit to it. If I buy a stock piece I can see if I like it then and there and determine if I overlook it’s “flaws” and decide for myself. But if I go custom it’s kind of a take it how it is, you designed it type of thing.

I haven’t completely ruled out custom, but I’m going to go to some local jewelers and see what’s out there. See what I actually like and don’t like. Then maybe it will make things easier.
