Re: "Go Light Green" garnet (mint merelani) in rose gold hal
I've already told you I love it and there's nothing I can add to what everyone else has said. It's definitely a showstopper and a statement piece. Congratulations on another beautiful project!

Good lord, that is to die for! To me, that is even more beautiful than a top quality emerald...just stunning. The heart cut and the setting are amazing as well. I'm totally jealous!

Lovinggems - Thank you!!
ooo~Shiney - glad you like that I wear my gems to McDonalds. The important thing is that I don't eat their food!!
Yennyfire - Thank you!! I also love this setting for the triple row of micropave and the curvature of the halo and the gallery.
Herekittykitty - Thank you, I love the glow so much. It's such a bright stone.
Jezebelle - Thank you!! Emeralds to me are more of a satiny green glow, and this is a brilliant neon green, but I am flattered by the comparison.
Natsplat - Thank you. I have a couple more photos here. One with my dirty lavender pink spinel. It's the same setting, but for a different shape stone. (I'm not very original, can you tell? ) The other photo shows the glow better. When the sunlight hits it, it becomes it's own electrical source. The brilliance on these gems is amazing. All these sun light photos on this page and the prior page were taken in my car on a sunny day.

Happy family shot in the late evening (around 8:00 PM), and close up of the same shot. Lavender spinel, minty garnet, and spessartite garnet. The prior shots were taken in my car, but these were taken on my patio in the late evening, as the sun was going down.

I really love this ring! The stone is delicious and I love that it's a heart. I don't own any heart shapes but would like to get one for a pendant and I'd definitely wear one in a ring, as well.
Re: "Go Light Green" garnet (mint merelani) in rose gold hal
Tl, do you find your stones darken much in halo settings (more than if they were in just prong, non-halo settings)? If so, do you think an airline between the stone and the halo helps keep the stone from darkening a bit? I ask because the padparadscha that I had set in a halo seems a bit darker to me-- I still love the setting and wouldn't change it now but wonder if it was in a prong setting like Traveling Gal's Leon ring (the one she had made for her daughter Amelia), maybe mine wouldn't have "darkened"? Or maybe it's because I had it set in platinum and it would have been better suited to yellow or rose gold.
