I am stuck on 18! Any hints?
it looks like binary code to me, and I translated the extra binary that I found in the source and that gave me Vigenere, which I see is another code, but I can't translate the original binary to get anything out of it. Help?

OK, so yeah, Vigenere is a type of cipher (google it)...that is the type of cipher that the other binary part is in! so you will need a vigenere decoder, and also the 'key' to the cipher...

For the next level, "An Ideal, Poor Son", is the weird source code a clue? When I look at it there are massive gaps between the lines, I have to do a lot of scrolling to see it all!

Yes. There's a pattern in those spaces.

A pattern, hmmm...does the space double after each line?

Nope, it's trickier than that. I got the pattern started then input into Google for the formula, but it wouldn't be too hard to figure out from scratch.

Sum of the previous? Fibonacci?? 'scuse spelling!

Also very close, but not quite. Just count the spaces and get 4-6 numbers in the sequence and you might see the pattern (or you can Google it then, like I did)

ok...got the pattern...it's the 17th number in the sequence, correct? for some reason not working for me...do you leave the spnge and ls there? the number is 4180, correct???

Look at what line #s the code is on and figure how what line the next item would be on. I don't remember if it's the 17th number - I thought I figured out which one it was, but input numbers around that in the sequence too until I got it.

oh I see now...it wanted the actual line number that the next line of code would be on. so 4180 spaces, but the line is...

Ohhhhhhh. That makes more sense than how I eventually figured it out, although it worked out the same way.

yeah, I guess it would work either way.

the next one...not sure what levels some of those clues are referring to?

Haven-

it should work if you use a vigenere decoder, the decoder will ask you to input the message (the first binary part) and then the key (which is another part of the puzzle...think about what the username and password were!)

And first you need to translate the binary into a string of letters so that you can then use the cipher.

OK Elrohwen I'm also stuck on 26b. I translated the morse code, and then put the answer into an autokey cipher, one I found on secretcodebreaker.com. It's asking me for a key letter. I've tried every letter in the alphabet but I can't decode it! Am I on the right track?

Yes, but you need to find a translator that takes a keyword and not a key letter - this is the tricky part. I forget what the keyword ended up being, but it was something available on the page - I think I just tried a couple words until I got a phrase.

You know at the time I just thought Samuel Morse...Morse Code but now that I look again there isn't even any Morse Code in that level is there?! So I don't know!
