I feel like I'm asking for help on so many of these. Sorry! But for #16, I've typed in the coordinates using a GPS converter in Boutler.com (a random site I found while Googling) and it looks like the location is Switzerland. Apparently, that's incorrect though. I feel like this one should be easy.

You're on the right track - you just need to be more specific in your location.

Mayerling -- For One Cypher, go to http://home3.paulschou.net/tools/xlate/ and where it says "hex" box, paste the sequence then hit decode. Then, look to the left hand "text" box and it will tell you exactly what to do.

Help!!! What am I missing? Too many spaces? Does the word have to upper case, lower case? Help!

Uppercase first letter, no spaces, no punctuation, just like you see it in the translator

Thanks, Zoe. I've actually been typing that sequence in for over an hour and nothing's happening. I've done it with/without quotation marks, with/without period, upper case/lower case V, and nothing works.

Did you type in just the word Victory? Only that word? Try it again

Yep. Over and over. And I keep getting the kumquat.

And you're typing it into the box and hitting submit query? Because I just tried it again from my computer and it works.

Soory Mayerling! I didn't realize you had already gotten to the word.

Oh no! How silly of me. I've been typing it into the browser tab, just like with previous levels! :nono:

oh, see, I tried that...I assumed that HAD to be it...but I didn't have it after the sponge part

FINALLY figured out #20. And now I'm looking at 21 and just have no idea where to start. I'm guessing this is a reference I don't get.

merilenda-I googled 'Xterm' but this stuff is beyond me! too computerish.

You guys have to let me know when you get to 27b and 26a. I've been stuck there most of the day and I can't even find good enough hints online.

I still can't figure out #15. :((

When you click the link it will show you some Wingdings. Find a translator online and translate from wingdings to text.

When you open the image, try saving it as a .jpg instead of .txt and you'll be able to open it on your computer.

I'm sorry, El, I meant #16. I know I'm very close but I'm not finding it.

Ohhh. Haha. I remember now. Maybe try a different coordinate site? I tried one and it put me in the middle of Switzerland, but then I tried a different one and it put me right on the town.

26a currently has me stumped too. I thought it was a reference to the longest word in the dictionary, googled and found ethylediamenetrtraacetate, the longest unhyphenated word in merriam-websters dictionary. No dice. So took a shot with EDTA, but no. I wonder does the picture being fuzzy mean something? Been stuck on this one for about an hour now.

I also tried a lot of "longest words" and didn't get anywhere. I thought I was being clever with long depth of focus or something, because it's fuzzy, but nothing. Haha. I can't find any hints online either and it's driving me nuts.

any hints on 21?

I cheated this one too. Haha. Ok, what is before history? Look in the code for what appears before history. I don't know why that's the answer though.

yeah, OK, I don't get it either...but onward!

For the next level, "An Ideal, Poor Son", is the weird source code a clue? When I look at it there are massive gaps between the lines, I have to do a lot of scrolling to see it all!

Yes. There's a pattern in those spaces.
A pattern, hmmm...does the space double after each line?

Nope, it's trickier than that. I got the pattern started then input into Google for the formula, but it wouldn't be too hard to figure out from scratch.
Sum of the previous? Fibonacci?? 'scuse spelling!

Also very close, but not quite. Just count the spaces and get 4-6 numbers in the sequence and you might see the pattern (or you can Google it then, like I did)
Got it

ok...got the pattern...it's the 17th number in the sequence, correct? for some reason not working for me...do you leave the spnge and ls there? the number is 4180, correct???

We must think the same way, because I also kept coming up with 4180. Apparently I didn't take the pattern far enough out. Just keep adding for a while.

HINT: find the number that comes after 4180, and it's the number after that one, I think.

Look at what line #s the code is on and figure how what line the next item would be on. I don't remember if it's the 17th number - I thought I figured out which one it was, but input numbers around that in the sequence too until I got it.

I am stuck on 18! Any hints?
it looks like binary code to me, and I translated the extra binary that I found in the source and that gave me Vigenere, which I see is another code, but I can't translate the original binary to get anything out of it. Help?

Ohhhhhhh. That makes more sense than how I eventually figured it out, although it worked out the same way.
