Who looks more preggers in this pix, hmmm? From a ''draft Palin for VP'' video on You Tube. Also check out this hike a supposedly 7 months pregnant Sarah Palin made in heels carrying a cup of coffee??

Sniff sniff: scandal.
If this does turn out to be something, all I would have to say is WOW.

Deco, FYI, women do continue to wear heels while preggo (I couldn''t, but I know plenty that do). They also do drink coffee...even regular coffee and not decaf!

I actually thought of this Palin stuff yesterday when I went to my stroller strides class and saw a woman there who had a new infant. The last time I saw her was two months ago during a class (she already had a daughter). I didn''t really know her, but I noticed her because she was kicking the a$$ of a lot of other NON preggo women. She looked about 4 months pregnant, MAX. Just a small bump.

So I was shocked to see her baby in class yesterday (already a few weeks old). I still can''t get over it...I''ve never seen a nearly full term belly that small. It would have been easily hidden by a jacket.

I actually have to admit, I thought less about Palin than the thought that I hated this skinny woman whose belly was actually totally FLAT now, btw.

Come to think of it..there was a TA in one of my classes that was the same way. She finally told people she was pregnant..but she never looked more than about four months.

ETA: And yeah..I saw her the other day..flat stomach.

You are making a personal problem here out of nothing. Just because we don''t agree with each other on an issue, does not mean I made an attack on you. If you are offended, it is because you are misinterpreting. I would like abortion as an issue in campaigns to ''drop off the radar." I would like the candidates to be able to run without someone asking them about abortion; as though their viewpoint would somehow cause a reversal of a SC ruling. It won''t. That''s why it really is, for all intents and purposes, a non-issue. I never told you, between the lines or bluntly, to shut up. As you have certainly done here to me.

Frankly, I''m offended by people who just cannot allow someone to speak their mind, and who must take personal issue with every post. You aren''t that important to me to attack you. It would serve no purpose.

The supposition is that Sarah didn''t KNOW Bristol was pregnant for quite a while ... so she wasn''t actively "faking" until it was almost too late. Which explains why in March she was dead flat stomached & then in April BA-BOOM giant stomach. Not how it usually happens, you know, naturally.

Its a real shame that the people on this board, mostly women, continue to perpetuate these salacious topics about another woman who has the first real opportunity to hold this nation''s highest office. If she were to win the Vice Presidency, she could easily become President someday.

Instead many of you are posting pictures of her stomach. A real shame.

Stone seeker, I think it''s great that a woman is on the ticket. However, I think it''s also great that women aren''t going to vote for and support her *just* because she''s a woman.

Not sure if you derived that from anything in my post because I agree with your comment. But the pictures of how skinny or fat she is or how she handles her family are sexist in nature and its unbelievable that other women would take part in it.

I dont see posts about Joe Biden''s son who is being investigated for fraud. Is that manly so therefore off-limits? I guess its not as titilating as how much weight a woman gains during pregnancy.

Yes, she's a woman but she is also a CANDIDATE, just as the others. I wouldn't want all african americans voting for Obama because he is the same race, just as it's not fair to steer all women towards Palin just because she is a woman and in a historical position.

It's kind of ridiculous to 'shame' all women that aren't in agreement with Palin, just because she is "one of us".

ETA: Why don't you start a thread about Biden's son? I would be open to hearing and discussing anything you have to say about it. However, this thread is strictly about Palin.

How OLD is that photo? Come on Deco..it looks like it''s 20 years old..ever hear of hormonal and body changes?
20.gif
And furthermore..it''s all about the angle. I can make myself look 40 lbs thinner if I take the photo at the right angle.

SS, don''t ya know that women are a catty bunch?
3.gif

Deco, it IS possible to carry smaller even with a later child. It depends how big she was before she got preggo. Also depends on the size of the child. Diet. Etc. There are women who get in better shape later on in life and I would think that better abdominal toning would help. That being said, if all those pics are legit, that''s a big difference.

No. It''s because the press is overwhelmingly liberal. You won''t see them utter a word about Biden''s son.

As far as I''m concerned, anyone who wants to talk ''conspiracy theories'', and keeps taking pot shots at her family, is either not interested in the issues, or has no defense of their party''s policies. The tabloid/YouTube chatter doesn''t add anything to the discussion. Here or out there in the ''big WWW''.

I never shamed all women, just those on this board who are overly focused on her pregnancy because attacking her or making suggestions about the timing of her weight gain is a bit sexist.

A good speech isn''t going to erase her lack of experience or the fact that her policies are pretty idiotic. Not to mention all the skeletons that have already come out of her closet.

She was chosen because she is a right wing Christian, and the fact is that right wing Christians are chomping at the bit to overturn Roe vs. Wade. If anyone doesn''t think Roe vs. Wade is in danger they are delusional. The Christian right is trying to give PHARMACISTS the ability to impose their beliefs on me by refusing to fill my prescriptions for birth control pills, etc. So if people actually think Roe vs. Wade being overturned is some far-fetched scare tactic, they''re just in denial.

Please dont call the beliefs of others ''idiotic'' just because you disagree with them. That is a personal attack and abusing the thread.

Also you need to read up on Roe v Wade among other things since you are one of many misinformed people who thing overturning it means you lose some rights because it doesnt. It just means that some of my federal tax dollars dont go toward funding abortion clinics. My state tax dollars will.

It is scary how many people vote because of an issue they dont even have correct.

You''re joking, right? I''ll call the VP nominee''s policies and her beliefs idiotic if I want to. We live in America, remember? We have the freedom to speak about our politicians any way we want to. I didn''t call you idiotic. I didn''t call another poster idiotic. I called the POLICIES of Palin idiotic.

I know what Roe vs. Wade is, thank you. I also know that if it is overturned, red states will immediately make abortions extremely difficult or even impossible to get.

And now a few questions for you-if I can''t call the VP nominee''s policies idiotic, why can you call me misinformed?

I''m also curious now-what "other things" should I read up on, in addition to Roe vs. Wade? I''d love to hear your suggestions!

The point I am making is why is a potential/likely far fetched scandal about a fake pregnancy more relevant than someone who defrauded investors/people out of millions of dollars? The fact that its being played up on this board is sexist, in my opinion. At least in the former case she was possibly trying to protect her family which should be admired, despite how bizarre you find it. In Biden''s case, the guy''s son was a crook and stole money and committed a crime but because his daddy was a big shot senator, he got away with it.

But US Weekly, and other tabloids dont find that as interesting I guess.

In any event, I came to PS for advice on jewlery and reading some of this fired me up a bit so against my better judgment I got into a political debate which is always moot and never a good idea. I''m going to go back to RockyTalky where I belong.
2.gif

sorry for getitng involved in y''alls conversation.

Stone seeker ... you can''t "shame" the brazen. And I reject the implication. It''s arguably "sexist" to talk about her makeup or clothes or feminine allure (which I saw touted on many buttons last night "Hottest VP" etc
20.gif
) ... it''s quite ANOTHER to discuss the possibility of FRAUD/LIES/COVER-UP/HYPOCRISY. The fact that it pertains to a pregnancy (which only women can have -- for now) is BESIDES THE FREAKIN'' POINT.

I don''t think that was SS''s intent at all...what I got from the post was that she was sick of of the discussions about Palin''s weight gain/loss/maintenance/daughter''s sex life (i.e. the topics that are rumors), not about all discussions about her in general.

She gave a fun speech and is a likeable person. I won''t vote for her for many reasons, not least of which is that her record on environmental issues in Alaska is dismal. She loves to hunt and kill wildlife for a hobby and she voted for some terrible laws that allow more sponsored killing of wildlife. I feel she is a real step backwards in so many areas. The only area where she is "different" is her gender and I won''t vote for a person based on gender alone.

I am a pro choice Republican, favor less government, less taxation. I feel pretty out of it in this election. None of the candidates are very good.

How can one discuss the Republican agenda without bringing up abortion, since it is largely the driving force behind it. It is why McCain chose Sarah Palin over other choices, and it got the largest applause when Huckabee mentioned it. It seems largely to be the driving force and *MOST* important issue to many Republicans.

Taking this issue off the table, well yeah, it does make the Republican agenda is more digestible.

But the extreme right wing conservatives are NEVER going to take it off the table.

How does this make me paranoid? I play by the rules. I try not to offend anyone.

I am not just talking about this incident. HollyS has offended many other posters recently. I may stand alone, but I stand by what I said.

Seriously???? You really think this is THE issue for the republican party?
33.gif

Being a republican and knowing a few (because, well, there aren''t a ton in California), I can say that I have not met a republican yet for which this is a driving issue behind choosing this party.

And for the record, I am pro-choice.
No, I do not think that this is the most important issue. At all. And frankly, it warms my heart to hear of so many pro-choice republicans. So why do the ultra conservative Republicans get to dictate the party''s choices? Because maybe if McCain had been "allowed" to pick a Pro - choice Candidate, then I would be inclined to vote for him. I am somewhere in between, as I have stated before. I would have liked Lieberman or Guliani or Meg Whitman. The Conservative right forced McCain to pick a Pro-Life candidate, and by doing so, made abortion the ultimatum.

I don''t take offense at every post, just when you quote me in them. Since you did, I figured it was directed at me, and by the way, I too was speaking my mind.

I also would like the abortion issue not to be front and center, so tell the Christian Coalition to BACK OFF! and we can get down to the "real"issues.
