Dreamer’s 20th Anniversary OEC Five Stone Ring

This post not only made me swoon, but it made me laugh... best unboxing ever! :D She's gorgeous, my friend. Enjoy!!

Thank you! I feel honoured you comments on this DIAMOND thread given that diamonds are not your favourite lol

You might enjoy this: Yesterday I was at an outdoor pub patio celebrating two of my graduate students successfully defending their thesis/dissertation this week, and one of them complimented by star sapphire. She said she didn't know sapphires came in that color! I guess she only knew about blue sapphires not pink. And then another asked what "asterism" is so I gave a little demo. It was really cute and I taught them a little something about colored gems!

How fun is that... you're a teacher through and through! Your students must love you. So much of this stuff is common knowledge to us gem junkies that we forget how fascinating it truly is. My favorite is watching people's faces when you tell them rubies and sapphires are the same material. :geek2:

I really love diamonds, but I guess I'm just not as comfortable buying them as CS. You almost need a doctorate in mathematics to properly source one. lol You did a splendid job 5x over. I chose OECs for my studs and couldn't be happier. Congrats again and enjoy!!

Oh, Dreamer! I have been gone from PS for a while but she is just FABULOUS. What a stunning ring. Your eye for both diamond cut and subtle setting details just makes it so special and unique. I wish you would wear it with the three stone, I think it's a fabulous combo.

I am so happy for you! Congratulations on the anniversary and on this beautiful piece :kiss2:

Thank you dear! I’m so happy to see you again, we’ve missed you!

I am trying to wear it more often with my three stone but it’s still not my “go to” as wearing them together presents some less than perfect angles of viewing where the rings don’t quite align, and my perfectionism pings at that. And it’s a very eye catching look that makes me a little self conscious on the bus! But I’ll do it more! I promise lol

I assume that the alignment issue can't be resolved with a spacer?

One of the fun things about lab diamonds being everywhere is that now people have even less information for guessing the price of jewelry. I take a lot of public transit and at least in cities where I have lived there's a wide range of bling!

No spacers for me, I hate the look. The “issue” is the five stone diamonds sit up higher the r he side stones in the three stone and that feels wrong to me lol It’s not the elegant, cohesive look I prefer and it blocks the profile of the three stone and kind of makes it look squatty.

Aha, got it! We can't have you thinking your three stone doesn't look her best, but luckily the 5 stone totally stands alone too! I'm so glad you were so pleased with how matchy the diamonds look together, I know that was a concern. A testament to your ability to decipher faceting!

I had hopes it would work but was so pleasantly surprised at how identical they looked in the end. I really love the ring, it couldn’t be better outcome.

You five stone is exquisite! The detail and the gleaming oldcuts!!! Swoon!!!
