so, i have a collection of stones - 2 x .25, 2 x .32, and i''m thinking of getting a .4 and doing a 5 stone graduated ring with leon.

does anybody have a graduated band? i''m not sure what style i want so all styles, modern and antique, would be welcome.

hopeful thanks in advance,

whitby! I'm on the same train...lol I've been looking into a graduated five stone and have already spoken to WF about it this morning, but with .40-.50 center anyhow I don't have my own pictures since I'm still researching, however here is one I want to mirror myself.

hi neatfreak :)

i see rings like that and i''m just not on the same page! that ring is amazing! having seen a few of a similar style, tho, i do wonder whether i should bump the center stone up a little, say, to around .5ct. i also might put tapered baguettes on the sides. so many choices!

Hi whitby,

I have a graduated 5 stone. It''s one ctw and is a shared prong. Here it is with my sapphire ring. I think using your diamonds that way would be a great idea!

Holy $h!t, NF. That is just stunning. Do you mind if I ask where you got that pic? Doesn''t look like the view I saw on his site but I could be remembering wrong. Are you thinking of a similar setting for your 5 stone?

D&T-

love the bezels! and i'm actually thinking of bezels as one of the possibilities - something along *these* lines (granted, not a bezel as such, but a ring with the stones set *into* it)....

what do you think?

Catmom - THANKS!

that's really helpful - and close to what i'm picturing, should i go down the shared prong path as opposed to doing a bezel or milgrain of some description.

would you mind giving me the sizes of the stones? i'm having the most problems trying to get a sense of proportion on this.

thanks Michelle

and by the way - your five stone with your sapphire is, as woobug would say, WOOOOOOOOO!

I think something like this (minus the huge center stone) would be lovel. Its a Mark Morrell.

EDIT - darn the picture didnt come across.

Here is the link...its 3/4 down the page and its a 7 stone with a large center stone. I think a 5
stone version of this would be lovely (minus the big center stone).

love yours, meluppy - and you know that i do! i want a yellow gold shank, but a plat/white gold head. i've gone back and forth on this a thousand times and am no closer to making a decision. if i could make a decision on it i'd pull the trigger for Christmas and send the stones off to leon in early october. i like the amount of graduation that you have - that's about what i have in mind; i still want to wear it against a wedding band, so i dont want the angle to be too acute.

honestly - i've gone back and forth on this zillion times....

I really like the Caleb Meyer design that you have posted. I think it could easily be modified to a graduated design. It''s too bad no one has a positive project to post of his work.

thank you so much! i LOVE that setting! in fact - having seen it, i'm now tempted to get a quote from MWM. i'm wondering who will be easiest to work with, also.

that ring is gorgeous!

I''m sure Leon would have some great suggestions! I personally love the "bezeled" with milgrain piece that you posted.

I also love the milgrain ring - I am partial to an antique look.

I have a graduated 5 stone that was my grandmother''s. I don''t have any pictures (sorry!) but I really love it! It''s a little over 1 ctw and the center stone is about 1/3 of a carat, so a little smaller than yours would be. I actually prefer graduated 5 stones to 5 stones with the diamonds that are all the same size...although I wouldn''t turn down one of the WF or BGD 5 stones that have been floating around here lately!
