I was looking at this diamond that I am interested in. I do not know much regarding diamond but a brief reading here gave me some ideal suggestion/detail to look for.

This diamond has a HCA of 1.9 but some detail (depth and crown angle) are slightly out of the prefer range.

Is this a good diamond? If someone can suggest me another one that is good, let me know. I am looking within the 1.88-1.92, E-F color, with a VVS1 or better. I have a budget of $33k.

Not a good stone because it's too deep. You are paying for ct weight that you won't see. We recommend sticking to 62.4 or less depth.

To better help you, is there any flexibility in clarity? VVS compared to VS Is purely a "mind clean" thing, as you won't see any inclusions in most (almost all ) VS2, and definitely won't see anything in a VS1. For me, anything above VS2 is paying for something I can't see, which I don't want to do. But of course rbrtuone is different! I just like to check.

I want something over the 1.8. The closer to 1.9 would be great. I think the I would like to stay at VVS2 or better.

The stone is cut too deep. You are losing diameter for its weight.

Thank you for all your suggestion. I will have to do more research and look further.

Why??? You don't trust me?? ..:P2:lol:
It not that I do not trust you. I have never heard of CBI before prior to you mentioning it. As far as depth, should I be looking for something lesser as it will have a bigger diameter? What is a good size diameter of the diamond would be good for 1.8-1.9 ct? Sorry for all these basic questions but this is my first time looking diamond and there is so much more detail to look at then I realized.

You want Depth between 60 and 62.4. the super ideals mentioned here (CBI, ACA) will all be in that range. Honestly, buying one of the super ideal brands is like pressing the easy button. You can literally just pick any stone with your color/clarity/price preferences and not care about the #s bc they already did all that work for you. Hence the extra cost for these stones over non branded cuts. They are pre vetted in that way. So if I were you and had your budget, that's what I would do.

Here's a good example of a well cut 1.81ct stone.

Ignore Dancing Fire, he is just joking around about not trusting him :D lol

He has picked an excellent stone, though - CBI diamonds are some of the best cut MRBs anywhere, and having bought one for my now-wife, I can attest that they have amazing performance!

F will look completely colourless in real life - it will pick up tint from the surrounding environment, of course, but all stones do that, and by buying an F you are getting the colourless look without paying the premium for E or D colour.

VS1 is also an excellent clarity - you aren't paying the premium for VVS but it will be completely eye-clean unless you've got it under a loupe (which no-one does when wearing it on the finger!).

The added benefit of the 'superideal' stones (CBI, WF, BGD) are that they will be bright from edge to edge, which means they look larger than they actually are :) A larger stone that is poorly cut will look dark at the edges and/or in the middle, and therefore small in dim lighting, but the superideals remain bright because they are reflecting light all the way across!

Whereabouts are you? Can you get to a CBI dealer?
https://www.craftedbyinfinity.com/web/locations/index.html

If you can, I highly recommend going to visit them to see for yourself. Or, of course, you can 'see it to believe it' and order one from High Performance Diamonds, which is run by Wink on here. If you don't like it, you can return it with no hassles :))

The same is true for Whiteflash or BGD, of course!

If you are open to being flexible on colour (which I think you can be, because the superideals perform so well and hide any tint most of the time!) you could also consider...

2.26ct G SI1 $28k
https://www.hpdiamonds.com/en-us/diamonddetail/HPD8603

2.56ct H VS2 $33k (bank wire price)
https://www.hpdiamonds.com/en-us/diamonddetail/HPD10432

The BN diamond you have originally found is 7.82-7.89mm in diameter.
The 2.56ct above is 8.79-8.82mm in diameter.

1mm extra in size is a LOT when it comes to diamonds - generally speaking, 0.2mm is obvious to the naked eye, so five times that amount will look substantially bigger!

As you can see, it's 26% bigger in face-up size!

The 2.56 seems to be on Hold at the moment, but that doesn't mean it's sold yet - if you are interested, contact HPD ASAP! Even if you can't get that stone, they can advise if they have anything else coming through the pipeline shortly that might suit :)

You have an excellent budget for what you are looking for. I would stick with one of the Super branded AGS000 H&A stones. They are the best cut
stones and have all the images to prove it. They also have excellent customer service. You might want to come down a little in clarity. You cant
see anything in VS1 and up and most likely wont see anything in a VS2 (so why pay for it unless you feel you need it for peace of mind). I would call
WF and have them take a picture of all three stones side-by-side. Lots of info on super ideals on their websites. Definitely worth reading.
