The "are you afraid I couldn''t hear him" comment by McCain was priceless. Seriously, for me, one of the highlights.
I like snarky and witty well-timed comments. I know it''s probably not PC, but ::::shrugs:::::: I yam what I yam.....

Any of you watching CNN?

Wolf just interviewed Biden ... afterwards, he said he wished he could hear Palin''s reaction. Anderson Cooper said, "Don''t hold your breath."

HEH!

Maybe it is the sangria talking...but I am so nervous about the VP debate that I don''t know if I''ll even be participating in a thread! I may be banging my head against the wall like Tgal''s avatar.
Don''t fret Lucky...honestly, I am expecting the worst. I would have been much more comfortable if McCain had picked someone else...she has all the republicans on edge.

Biden just finished up on CNN and there was a comment that they were hoping Palin would join them to comment. Cooper said don''t hold your breath. Ha...sad, but true. Where IS she anyway?

I am really worried about the V.P. debate. I just think that Biden will look like a brut compared to Palin. She is going to be fragile.

I seriously doubt it will even take place. I hope the party machinery just lets her be herself, because I am afraid that she is losing confidence as a result of them shielding her and trying to mold her. Just let her be.

(But honestly, I do think that she is going to faceplant)
Miracles, I will admit, I will be extremely surprised if she holds her own, much less wins the debate.
Yeah, I think she''s going to dive-bomb. It''s probably gonna be like a train wreck . . . we won''t want to look, but we won''t be able to look away!
40.gif

Oh, foo! You wish!

Biden better be on his toes! And you, too!

I really gotta go; the hubby is home now, and I should probably pay attention to him. The pizza is in the oven, and my wine is chilled. Time to dine!

I gotta say, I really enjoyed this. Thanks for letting me be one of the ''token Republicans'' at the party.

I can''t hear the dang TV anymore, ''cause my cat is howling at a gecko on the wall!

Too bad it''s not the GEICO gecko; I''m sick of that little green ba&*@#d!

LOL! Where are you, the Caribbean???
10.gif

Nothing exotic. Just Texas; about 60 minutes north of Austin.
Being so close to a haven for liberals must be like Alaska facing potential aggression from nearby Russia!!
37.gif
Well, we are a Red State (that sounds like a Soviet block country, doesn''t it), but there is this itty bitty blue dot in the middle of the state. Austin is definitely liberal. But in a very laid back hippie kind of way. Those lefties don''t bother me!
I have never been ... I''d quite like to visit San Antonio, though!
I''ll be there this time next month! We''re going to celebrate our first anniversary; yippie!
OMG, a year? I remember your wedding - you wore a pretty red suit!
No, sweetie -- that was Laurie! Put the wine down now. You''ve had enough.

Absolutely.

I just watched Biden comment on the debate (CNN). Where''s Gov. Palin?

McCain was on the offensive a lot. I am proud of him.
I''ll admit that Obama was more charismatic than I thought he''d be.

i was sooo looking forward to "watching" the debate with y'all, but bloody L.A traffic got me home late. DH and i decided to wind down with a proper diinner (and bottle of wine) before we watched the debate (which we ended up DVRing). We started a good 45 minutes late. ugh.

Lucky, he has that wrapped up in this election. John, er, I mean McCain, is going to have to attack on a different level.

Cramming for the debate! That would be my guess....

Oh yesssssss, they are finally talking about McCain not looking at Obama in the eye.

And they are talking about Obama not rebutting McCain.

I should be a "talking head". I am certain I would be more entertaining and objective. But that might be the gin and juice.

I don''t know how you can handle that L.A. traffic. I always feel like I should write a will before I drive north.

I see Palin has yet again been kept away from the press, and instead they trotted out *9/11!!!ZOMGTERRISTS!* Guliani *9/11!!!ZOMGTERRISTS!* because apparently Palin still isn''t allowed to wear Big Girl panties? She''s not an infant, if she is a valid VP choice she should be allowed to represent herself and if she can''t be trusted to open her mouth in front of the press and give an unscripted response to questions, how are people to have faith that she''s qualified?

I am completely sick of this election, sick of the shady, misleading mud-slinging the Republicans have been getting away with without more than orders to remove the slanderous, incorrect ads, and once PS became overrun with political threads, I have been avoiding it.

I decided to stop posting on PS until the election is over, but I am so disgusted with how things are going down that I wanted to see what people on PS had to say. Perhaps Americans are blase about how elections are run down here, but I am horrified.

We''re not blase on PS. I don''t think we are. I don''t think a political thread would thrive in a non-election year. Besides, we all want to be able to have money to buy our bling.
17.gif

Having said that, this is the first thread in which each camp...Dems, Reps and Independs..lol that is me...InDepends....sorry.

Anyway, it is the first time that we have just "united" in a common bond....even if we don''t agree on the strategy to meet our needs, there were no attacks, no ugliness, not a lot of pettiness (except snarky funny petty ones) so I for one am very satisfied with this thread.

I agree. I am sure tomorrow people will go to their "respective threads" for more serious commentary. We all watched the debate (or tried to with all this multitasking). But I like all the PS ladies and if it means we put aside our differences to enjoy watching the debate together, I think that''s fine. We all had a good time, and it was a nice break from everyone bristling.

Booze. Booze for prez.
