I am really worried about the V.P. debate. I just think that Biden will look like a brut compared to Palin. She is going to be fragile.

I seriously doubt it will even take place. I hope the party machinery just lets her be herself, because I am afraid that she is losing confidence as a result of them shielding her and trying to mold her. Just let her be.

(But honestly, I do think that she is going to faceplant)

Well, we are a Red State (that sounds like a Soviet block country, doesn''t it), but there is this itty bitty blue dot in the middle of the state. Austin is definitely liberal. But in a very laid back hippie kind of way. Those lefties don''t bother me!

North of the Red River there isn''t even an enclave, and even the dems are to the right by national standards. The DH even got into a discussion with a pollster who asked what his leanings were...he asked the pollster right back ''Well, do you mean liberal by by national standards or Oklahoma standards?'' The guy was a bit taken aback. They had a fun talk though, said he...

This section of the state used to be heavily Democrat -- in local, state, and Congressional races anyway. It is becoming largely Republican now though. But you''re right, the Dems here are pretty conservative in most of their thinking.

ETA: I have to say that McCain was stronger than I thought he was going to be. He sort of reminded me of the "ol' McCain" Not "old" but the former McCain that I always respected.

Absolutely!! Besides, Palin is so much more fun to look at than any of the candidates. I mean that in a good superficial way and a not-so-good substantive way.
