Hello everyone!! I’m very thankful to everyone who helped me to pick my engagement ring diamond! Now I’m trying to buy diamond studs. I’m not planning to spend a lot of money right now but I’m planning to upgrade them in a year or two. I put on hold pair of diamonds this evening, can you please look at them and tell me what you think? https://www.bluenile.com/build-your...AMONDS&track=viewDiamondDetails&action=newTab I’ve never seen GIA J color before... But I think that in such a small stone you won’t be able to see much of a color? I’m trying to spend under 1,5 K including setting, and I think I can go low as SI2 and J color.. But I’m not sure, won’t they be too yellow? o_O

Disclaimer: I am not an expert! But, I ran them through the HCA and they both scored well, so you know, at least, that they aren't duds.

FWIW, I am purchasing a pair of studs as a gift that are K color VS2. In the videos that were sent to me, the diamonds face up quite white, when not next to a D/E color stone. They sparkle brilliantly.

You can go lower in color for earrings compared to other stones because people don't really see the stones so much at tilts, and never up close. Also, they are caught by the sparkle.

Sorry I can't say anything to if they're "good." They look quite nice to me! But, at least from HCA, we can say they aren't rejects! :)

I would go with whiteflash if you are even considering upgrading in the future. Compare thenupgradenoolicies iof both companies. And you can be certain of great cuts at WF.

I looked at whiteflash studs as well but I don’t think I can get anything for my budget over there o_O

I hear you. If I was starting with scratch and I knew I wanted to upgrade over time I would suck it up and sacrifice something now, Size or color or something else and buy from WF anyway. But I wouldn’t sacrifice in cut or upgrade policy. That upgrade policy I have learned over time is crucial if you want to go up in size. If however you know for sure these are forever then maybe the upgrade policy isn’t that important.

I couldn’t run them through HCA, but they look nice to me.. But I don’t know much about diamonds :D

And what do you think about ones I posted?

I think the key numbers fall within general PS parameters. What do you get when you plug it into the hca? I’m leaving that up to you. If under 2, they are worth looking at if you are willing to go only with blue Nile. You sure you want to skip the Wf trade in policy?

I think you can get something in budget at Whiteflash, here’s one pair, only slightly smaller than the ones posted, still leaves plenty for the settings, I’d just pop them in the cheapest martinis at $189.

They will be fully upgradeable too as they are ACAs, also maximum sparkle!
I’ve never seen whitwflash diamonds maybe that’s why I don’t realize that they really different from all other diamonds? But is it noticeable fire difference for small studs?

Yes, it is very noticeable. I just replaced my local jewellery store studs with a pair from Whiteflash (.69 tcw, K color). My first pair was the same size and higher color, but my new ones look so much better. My coworkers have all noticed the difference and ask where I bought them.

I really like the one you showed me... I wonder if I can get them in screw backs... I will call whiteflash today :(

I’m getting excited for whiteflash ... maybe I should go with them

my earrings are J color (WF ACAs, 1.33ct total). I put them in yellow gold settings, so I can't tell whether they have a tint or not

they look beautiful!! I’m planning to get white gold setting, so I wonder if I see any tint in my case.. and what backing did you get for your studs?

they're just friction backs. they seem to be secure. I've never had an "almost lost an earring" incident

I would call WF and tell them your budget and that you want to upgrade later. I’m sure they could find something for you!

I called whiteflash today, they can make screwbacks for no extra charge so I’m excited about it. But I noticed there are no diamonds for studs between 0.7 and 0.8 cttw... I wonder how often they get new diamonds in? Anyone knows?

:geek2:Guys, how to choose right pair of diamonds on whiteflash if you saying they all nice? At what should I pay attention?

I found lots of pairs available - this one is just slightly above the $1,500, and you'd need a setting. But it's from the "A cut above" designation so you know you're getting the most precisely cut to strictest standard diamond.

It may be worth getting in touch with WF, show them that pair that they have listed, and see if they can do anything to get you as close as possible to your $1,500 mark with a setting.

it’s saying that diamond pair was sold. My question is if they find me a pair of diamonds does that mean diamonds will be beautiful no matter what as long as they the cut above?
Are those diamonds any good?

I didn't see that they were sold! They showed up when I did the search.

Keeping in mind that I am not a jeweler, expert, or even someone that knows the numbers of a diamond to an extent like some members here... I would always feel comfortable buying the ACA designations from WF, especially for earrings, where you can sacrifice some on color etc. WF is awesome and trustworthy.

An even better idea may be to call IDJewelry, ask specifically for Yakutiel, say that you are from Pricescope, and tell him your budget. That would be something I would also suggest! Generally IDJ does great on price/quality ratio.

did you request videos for your diamonds? Or you talking about videos they have online? I’m looking at K color diamonds as well...

My particular diamonds were part of the Brian Gavin Signature line, but they were from another PS member. However, Brian Gavin used to be with Whiteflash and helped develop their ACA standards. So they will be very, very similar diamonds all said. Given the choice I would have stuck with I or J color, but the K is not a bad compromise and I got them for a stellar price. All in all, a K color isn't a bad compromise at all, but YMMV.

Any of the PS vendors you won't really go wrong with, and they all have excellent customer service and return policies anyway. :)
