Look forward to seeing the finished ring.

Rhino... Thank you! I really appreciate your thumbs up! You know I will post ring pics as soon as he asks me the magic words... LOL!

Wow, that thing is enormous. Have fun with it.

Oh lordy, you definitely should clap for your own stone. That is GORGEOUS and looks AMAZING on your hand, even in that stone holder. WELL DONE! Chalk up another chunky beauty from Mark T.

Awesome. Chunky faceted cushions ... who *can''t* love em.
3.gif
Based on the pix it doesn''t look to deep either. What''s the ratio?

Hey Rhino... Here are the specs:

4.04 J VS2
10.36 x 9.05 x 5.89
1:14 ratio
D: 65.1%
T: 57%

I have to say, the pics are lovely but that thing is way more of a fireball in person (and amazingly white)! But god, I love those chunky facets and you can really really see them in the pictures.

Cannot wait to see what you decided to do w/ the setting!

Clap away dear! That stone deserves it!!!
36.gif

Wow what a ROCK!!!!

I love it!

Ohhh...its just beautiful, CR!!! Those chunky facets are to die for! Congrats!!! Can you share with us how you are going to have it set by Leon? Soooo happy for you!!!!

I know! I was trying to take pics of the chunkiness of the stone, and didn''t really end up with any fire ones... Whoops!
I have to say that you have a fabulous eye, and you were right on! Thanks again for getting me excited about this stone.
How is your search going? Are you looking for something similar as far as the look of this one?

Oh and the setting.... You thought the stone was good, just wait! More clapping

O wow, it''s beautiful. Congratulations on a great find, I know how pesky those cushions can be to find. And 4ct, my GOD ! Can''t wait to see the final ring.

Aww...glad I could help but honestly, that stone needed no help and sold itself. CANNOT wait to see the setting!! How long do we have to wait??

I am definitely looking for something with the same type of faceting (of course about 2 cts. smaller). Unfortunately, the search has only turned up one stone so far. Its a touch smaller than I had hoped for and not totally the same type of faceting (not quite chunky enough).

I'm going to go back next week and take another look at it. Mark has been super patient with me though.

I'm debating whether to just take it as a "placeholder" and keep having Mark look in the meantime. FI does not like that idea though - like yours, he wants me to be over the moon about the stone I pick.

Oh, and poo on you for thinking you had big hands. Your fingers are long, slender and gorgeous...and that stone looks perfect on it. BTW, poo on your friends too if they don''t agree!!!

OMG! My post was eaten!!!

I understand the placeholder thing. But in the end it''s probably better to wait, what''s a lil more time at this point? DOn''t settle, bc you will always know that you did!

I am still just amazed at how hard it is to find these cushions... Your stone is out there somewhere, it just needs to be found. I hate to say this but have you considered doing some leg work on yuor own in the diamond district? There was actually a stone on the opposite corner from Mark that was in that size range and it was beautiful... Maybe you could even get Mark to look at it and get it for you. JUst an idea...

As far as waiting goes... Well Leon said 5-6 weeks, which is what we figured. The I will just have to see how long the bf can hold on to it before he asks. And to be honest, I doubt it will be long, bc he is honestly probably more excited than I am... Please keep me posted on all your search details, I find it all so interesting.

ANd for those of you who I was asked to find answers to questions for... I did do it. Check back in a lil and I will give you more details.

CrookedRock,

Congrats on your stone... Looks nice on you. Your setting sounds pretty, the halo around the cushion is going to be beautiful... How are you going to mount the stone, north south or east west? Since you have long fingers it looks really pretty north south. My hands are smaller so I had to set mine east west ( I have a cushion as well). Is your stone a vintage? Not sure if you mentioned if it was or wasn''t.

For the next 6 weeks your not going to be able to think about anything else
1.gif
. I''m really looking forward to getting my ring soon, cuz I''m sick of not being able to focus on other things and I feel so antsy!

Can''t wait to hear more about your stone and setting.... Is the setting going to be modern? Usage of pave diamonds?

Thank you for the compliments. Still can''t figure out why my hands look 20 years older than I am. Oh well, I will have to start lotioning them more! LOL
I waer a size five, but I really do have big hands, pretty much the same saize as the bf just not quite as manly, but yes my finger are quite long.
The wait is gonna be tough, but I need to find something else to do bc I will only torture myself. I can''t wait to see yours. I really had my hear set on an east west ring, but this stone wanted to north south, so that''s how it will be set. And I guess I would have to call it more modern. And yes... PAVE GALORE! Micropae actually and I couldn''t get enough of it LOL!
As far as the stone being antique... I totally forgot to ask, but I am emailing Mark right now bc I too would like to know! I''ll let you know when I find out.

Is yours with Leon too? When will you be getting it? Are there pics anywhere?

Thats the link to my thread...

Your hands don''t look old! You have very nice hands you should appreciate them
1.gif
Are you in your 20''s? I would assume by the look of your hands... So they can''t look bad.

My cushion is being set by a jeweler in Beverly Hills CA. I met with about 3 jewelery designers before I found the right one. If this last person didn''t work out I was probably going to give Leon a call... His work is lovely, but I think it would have been difficult to work w/ him since I live on the west coast.

I''m hoping my ring will be done late this week, but at the latest I assume 2 weeks.

Your ring is going to look amazing north south with lots of pave diamonds!

IHeartDiamonds... OF course! Kinda on a diamond high today now that I finally have one. Your stone is stunning! I am dying to see what it looks like in its setting. I can totaly understand being nervous about working with Leon long distance. I think that it you want something he has already done and something on the easier side, then I would say go for it. But if you are as picky as I am I would not reccomend it, and not bc he can''t do it, but for your own peace of mind! You better post those pics asap! I am jealous of the east west!

Wow!! 4 cts with a halo! We''re going to have to put you on the celebrity thread! Your stone is beautiful!

We''re going away for today for a few days so I figure I''ll take my mind off diamonds until Monday and then go see the stone again next week. I think last time I saw it I was so focused on size that I couldn''t see straight. Maybe I''ll love it this time around! I have considered doing some legwork myself but I''m worried since I''m not an expert. And I really trust Mark that he''s not going to rip me off; I wouldn''t be so sure about anyone else down in the Diamond District. I''ll definitely keep you up to date on the search.

Congrats again!

CrookedRock - Welcome back! I''m so glad you found the diamond you dreamed of. It looks huge but absolutely gorgeous!!! Can I ask if you ended up with an eternity band and the the sizing insert? Also, are you getting a band made? Did Leon mention anything about not wearing the 2 rings together?

Hey Melanie! Thanks for starting this thread... And thanks for the compliment on the diamond.. I still can''t believe I have a diamond!!

I had so many questions to answer, and I figured more would flow in so I went and started another thread called: Leon Q''s Answered!
I''ll answer these questions over there, so we can keep it all together!
