I love amethyst and I've been wanting a carved amethyst for some time now. This one is a lovely color and the listing says it's a floral carving, only I can't make it out.

Can anyone tell me what the image is? thanks!

I can help you but I cannot access the content in the link,, It is being blocked by all my browsers. Can you attach a photo please?

This carving has me stumped…

Thanks, @Pomelo. At first glance it looks like just a carving of leaves.
I wonder why the seller thought it was Chinese, @Brightshiny.
Vintage Chinese jewellery is usually in high carat gold, 20K and above.
Is there a hallmark in Chinese?
I would say it ‘s not a particularly Chinese kind of carving unless it is “随心所遇” (whatever your — the carver’s —heart pleases)
If not Chinese then maybe it is a scarab? @Pomelo @toomuchB, @LilAlex @Autumn in New England can you make out a scarab or am I imagining things?

To me it seems like someone just went to town with the carving back in the day and now whoever was charged with writing the description for the website just decided that whatever it is, it looks like leaves enough to be called a floral design.

I also see a rat sitting on a peach in the first photo’s orientation but it’s an unlikely combination (I can’t really find any examples on Chinese sites).

@Daisys and Diamonds for the rat (white), and @rattatooE for the peach (green)!

They’re both very auspicious though: rat for cleverness and good harvest, peach for longevity and prosperity.

I thought it was a gourd but now I think it's what Glitterata has, which I think is a peach and its leaves or multiple peaches.

I've google it and I find more jade peach pendants than plums, and they have the pointy end and the line that separates the halves.

Can't be 100% sure but I'm gonna go with peach.
