Such a beautiful stone. What is the origin? I have a similar coloured Tourmaline from Namibia.

It’s Afghan actually! I never got the chance to own a Namibian. I have Nigerian mostly and this. Please do share a pic of yours!

Afghan is my favorite deposit of indicolite after the paraiba deposits of course. Very nice stone, it would pop in rose gold!!!

I was thinking white gold. But I’ll put it around some rose gold to see if that works better. Nice idea :)

My setting idea is this. I hope it doesn’t darken the stone!

This is my blue tourmaline. It is near eye clean or eye clean. It has some healed fractures. I love that the fact that your tourmaline is very clean.

It’s gorgeous! What are your plans to set it?

Just get a top notch jeweler if you're planning to bezel. Many jewelers mess up bezels and/or damage the stone in the process of bezeling.

Hi TL,

Yes I was worried about the bezelling so decided that if I get this design done then I’ll add prongs to it like here

Tajik spinel (1.47 carats) from WSFGems. I really wanted a true medium pink.

Thank you Junebug17 and Gemonsessed! Would you believe I noticed and loved this spinel over a year ago? I bought other gems in the meantime. I have no idea what took me so long to pull the trigger. It is one of my favorites now. There is still another one on the website. It is a little smaller and you’d have to contact the vendor to get a photo. It looks like there is something wrong with some photos on his website.

Thank you gemobsessed. All my hand shots are blurry; I'll try again tomorrow when I have natural light. Here is an unboxing picture:

I love Barry's cutting and the ring shows it off so well. Did Julia B set the tourmaline for you? I somehow thought she did not work with outside stones.

The setting is by JuliaBJewelry and she kindly set it for me. I have bought a number of items from her so I am an established customer. Her etsy account says, "Setting your stone: there is a $50 mounting fee and you would need to sign a waiver of liability. It is at our discretion to decide which stones we feel comfortable setting."
