Quartz?
 
Where was the stone found? Under what circumstances...digging, on the ground, near the ocean, in a bog, etc. It looks like quartz, but geography can help.

People post this things all the time. We try to help or send them over to Colored Stones if we think it belongs there.
 
Probably quartz ie Citrine which is the yellow variety and a semi precious gemstone but it’s not really possible to ID rocks from a photo.
 
Looks like quartz to me. But who knows?
