Thanks SimoneDi, those links are super helpful!! I actually found a 3 stone thread but it wasn't the one I am looking for, darn it!
Yup, it's for the 1.6 BG stone. I'm almost all set but I'm having side stone indecision!
That is such an exciting project!I just went through the same dilemma btw! It took me 6 months to decide (slow much
). I realize that people have different preferences, but do you envision more of a true 3 stone (Tiffany style 1:2:1 ratio) or a three stone where the side stones are smaller, accent stones?
I'm looking for somewhere in the middle, lol. I think I'd like around 0.4 carat side stones, but currently there aren't any in stock. There are 0.3 sides which I've purchased, but since this ring is not meant to ever, ever be changed, I'm waffling.
Honestly, if I were you, I would stick with the 30pt. They are sizable enough to provide that true 3 stone look with your 1.6 center, yet they will also allow it to shine and not be overpowered.
I went from thinking about going with 70pt sides each, to 50pt, to 30pt to 23pt! The 30pts were a really good size, but I gravitated toward the smaller ones. If you are unsure if you want to wait, I would visit some local jewelers and just see how you like the proportions with 40pt sides. Super exciting either way! Can't wait to see the end results![]()
Oh I am glad that you found what YOU like best! If I can spy for stones on your behalf, please let me know lolThanks SimoneDi. I've poured over pictures and I was also able to see some 40 point sides in person and liked those the best. To me the 30 pointers looked like they didn't know if they wanted to be accent stones or if they were trying to be true side stones, LOL. We shall see what happens as nothing is set in stone

Beautiful ring @rocks!
Thank you! I'm happy with it. The sides are super ideal and an almost perfect match.
Originally I was going to reset with ideal .84/.85..."Tiffany proportions", but it was just alittle too much for me.the sides would have extended beyond my finger....something to think about.
SimoneDi - You are so right....I think this is the universe making me take some time to think about it. Until I sort out what's happening with this ring, I'd like to keep the jeweler private. As soon it's a go, I will divulge all details!!
Rocks - Your cousin's ring is gorgeous! That's a nice perspective since my center stone is 1.6. Do you have a family shot of all the 3 stones?
@JDDN ! I didn't know you were getting a 3 stone! I love the proportions you're considering. Mind you - I love any 3 stone proportions; I just think the look of 3 stones in a row is awesome.
I'm going with the Tiffany proportions - 1/2/1 - but that's largely to get finger coverage for my size 7.5 fingers. I'll love going on this journey with you - I hope everything smooths out in the end and you enjoy the process.
ETA What size are your fingers? That makes a big difference to what size your side stones should be.
