I stumbled into the PriceScope forums recently while researching engagement rings and diamonds. The wealth of knowledge contained in the various posts have been eye-opening, and have helped me make an informed decision. I'm excited to see the results soon once the custom setting is completed.

I didn't realize the complexities of the diamond market, standard certifications, advanced optics, and pricing. My local jewelry stores didn't provide the best explanations beyond the rote "there are 4C's; we have hand selected diamonds you'll love."

Luckily for me, the various posts here provided insights for me like Idealscope and ASET results and the importance of cut quality above and beyond what the standard GIA or AGS report. The information about the reputation of various online vendors and drop shippers was also invaluable.

I'm excited with my purchase, but just want to extend a thank-you to everyone here!

I guess I don't want to jinx it just yet; it's a custom order setting and should take a few weeks to finish. I'll post info once it's available. I don't want people thinking I'm shilling a particular vendor with my first post :)

But it's been an interesting experience, and I hope my girlfriend (future fiancé!) likes the results.
