My SO just inherited a beautiful 1.25 RB, which is lovely. We were having a hard time find a stone we both loved. This stone is very sentimental to him but we both realized the issue. We had been looking at square cuts, asschers and emerald cut diamond. Now we have this RB and intend to use it. What we are now trying to find is a setting that will make the stone look square/hexagon/octagon. We found a beautiful Ritani but are still unsure. Has anyone ever seen a round stone that looked square yet had a plain halo much like this James Allen Asscher Bezel Set Ring.

Is this idea something that is possible? The other idea is to make a grey diamond or sapphire halo. Thoughts? Please

I'm not sure what you want.

Do you want a halo?
Or a bezel?
I understand that you want something to make your round stone look square or octagonal, and believe me there are a number of ways to do that but first we need a clear idea of what you want.

That JA setting is a bezel. And it follows the line of the stone. So it would be a round bezel on a round stone. Not an octagonal one.

But there are some bezels that can make a round look octagonal.

A bezel has no pave.
A halo has pave.
Which do you want?
Or do you want some fishtail prongs to square the round out?

"Illusion" type heads

Square or cushion halo.

The Harry Winston Belle could also work if you like that style?

You'd have to get it custom made.

I'd get it made by BGD or ERD.

The first octagonal halo I posted would be easier to make and would therefore probably cost less. You would want it made to fit a flush fit band (so the undergallery stems would have to take that into account) and the pave style would be bright cut.

The second one with the deco shoulders would be harder... here's a similar halo to that one, but for an EC instead of a round. Still and all you can read the thread and follow the process: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/help-with-cads-for-my-ec-please.194129/page-2#post-3557209#p3557209

Will run you 3,500-4,500 in platinum.

If you want a less expensive option, that airline halo I posted is about 1700 from Beverly K.

Beverly K and Gordon Clark lines might have something that works for you.

I know where you are coming from as I personally gravitate most toward cushion shapes but ended up with three round stones for my e-ring as well for sentimental reasons (and I really never thought of having a three stone ring at all, but in the end it was worth it because I love my ring and it means so much to me). Leon made my side stones into cushiony beadset shapes to please me.
I really think that Erstwhile ring is gorgeous.
Have you seen twosanguinehearts's original single stone ring?
