An OEC sight unseen - possible?

Wow that is beautiful stone. Hmmm...

I was having one of my Sjogrens’ flares today. Ugh... feeling like being crush under something.

Heard from Larry. No pressure he said whenever I’m ready. Such a sweet person. He sent me a video of a bigger OEC. It makes me happy when someone actually sends me a diamond video without me having to ask for it.

What do you think of this one? It’s bigger than what I had in mind originally.

This is a different flavor of diamond. Far shallower than the 3.51 and the other Diamond from Larry. And it’s not round.

I don’t like the wonkyness in the middle - and this fisheye (not sure wir this is the right word for what I’m seeing). But it still is charming. I’m just pretty sure that the light return won’t be as good on this shallow diamond as on the other two. This will most likely make it look more tinted than the other two diamond which are cut better (in the sense of more light return).
I have to come to the conclusion that I do want a more perfect cut, then that big diamond from Larry but it’s still very charming and somebody else will love it. Maybe you could look at both his diamonds and then compare the flavors.

IMO (and this is not an expert opinion) I like his first diamond the most out of the three. For how much is he selling it? (If you are okay sharing the Price)

Color me confuse :D

Which one should I go for?

The 3.22 L color OEC or 3.15 Parks’ OEC which has N color.

It‘s hard to say. Both are gorgeous stones. My early modern round brilliant (or whatever it might be) has an L colour (was sold uncertified at an auction as a K). For me it‘s a gorgeous colour! It tends to adapt it‘s surroundings. But face up it still looks white. It just works everywhere. It melts right in.
As for N. If I‘d purchase an old cut of a certain dimension again, I would probably look in the N or even lower colour range, since I love that subtle soft colour in stones. But I believe that it‘s very personal taste and you would want to see it in person. If going online and more or less unseen, I‘d choose to go with L. I think it‘s rather safe. If you can wait a bit it might be very worth to look at the N :-).

The N Parks has will be gone in a flash, so if you had any interest I wouldn't wait. I truly believe it will surprise you.
But I also like the first stone you showed that was already set. I wish these were normal times and you could have seen it already!

Which one do you prefer? Which facet pattern is more pleasing to your eyes? Can you see more videos/photos showing the profile of both?

FWIW I do not care for the video of M stone.

It really is an amazing diamond. The N color makes me nervous in a stone that size though. What do you think?

If I had to choose right now, under the proverbial gun I would choose the L. Especially since you can see it IRL and decide with your eyes in person.

Ideally comparing the two in person would be the only sure way to know which one is the one for you but I would be hesitant to go for an N unless you knew you would be comfortable with the color. An N is going to be tinted no question about it. From the side it will be noticeable and my guess is face up it will be too. Photos don't show the entire picture. I loved my L but the tint started bothering me so I knew I needed a higher color and J was my sweet spot. We are all different but I know that N wouldn't be a good fit for me and I think (GIA) L is a good option for many OECs. JMO.

Honestly, all of them are beautiful but I like the option of buying locally (seeing it in person) and already set in a gorgeous setting.

My thoughts exactly.

Honestly I’d get the N and then go see the L and compare them.

I would do this in a heartbeat. Being immuno compromise is no fun at all.

@missy these are my concerns also.

omgosh what a coincidence that I just found your post about this and I commented asking if you remember it. Lol what a great coincidence.
It is! I tried on so many rings that weekend, but that one was a standout. I remember asking to try it on because it was so huge! I wear a size 4.75-5 on my left hand.

I don't think you can go wrong with either although if you are color sensitive you might be better off with the L.

They are both beautiful though.

That L is just incredible. I had saved the video of it on his IG so I can watch it over and over again. It’s just perfect. I wouldn’t let that one slip away if I were you!- just my opinion.

That L.....I'm drooling over here!

The pattern in the L is just so beautiful! I think it’s my favorite non repro (AVR, cer) oec that I‘ve seen in a while!

It looks gorgeous !

I have seen a few over the last month and thought of you, so keep us posted! I will start posting them as i see them if this one doesnt work for you!
