Hi Friends. I am having a great experience with BGD so far and understand they have a great policy and customer service. But would appreciate some PS reassurance
Anyone bought advanced stones from their virtual inventory before? From what I understand, the stones are not cut yet but will meet all their criteria on their signature atones. It just seems they don't keep 0.35 ct in stock due to the lower demand. For a 5 stone ring, the 0.4 ct seemed to compete with my 1.5 engagement ring though worn on separate hands and the 0.3 didn't seem to show the curvature of the diamond enough? Is 0.35 ct the way to go? Just need a little pat on the back or shove please to pull the trigger. Thanks in advance!

I think the larger size is lovely! Are these BG Signature stones? I was browsing earring pairs recently and they seemed to have plenty in that size range.

Oh sorry for being misleading. The pictures are from a local b&m store just to help figure out ct sizes. Good luck with your earring search and thanks for commenting!

I have an eternity from WF with .5 stones, & LOVE it. I wear it either as an ering or RHR. For context, my ering is a 3 stone & the largest of the 3 is a 1.61. Personally, I would not worry a bit about your eternity clashing with your ering, maybe I missed something...I never considered that aspect! :errrr: I love the presence of the .4's on your hand, & would lean towards the .4's, JMHO. But how fun for you to actually be there & have the advantage of trying everything on!! :appl:

I like the .40's!

You will see very little size difference in .35 and .40. What size is your finger? I think I could wear .40s easily on my right hand, but your finger looks small.

My finger size is 4.25. I think I could wear 0.4 ct but it seems to be so blingy (which I secretly like) but am afraid that it becomes the star or equivalent to my engagement ring, which is modest (1.5 but I think in measurement faces more to be 1.3 in measurement) but I still enjoy. I am probably just splitting hairs between the 0.35 and 0.4. The pictures above show the difference between 0.4 and 0.3 and I am surprised I see the size disparity between those two. Will I still be able to see the shape of the diamond with the 0.35 the way with the 0.4?

As long as you don't wear them in the same hand, they will not directly compete. However, a five stone with 30 or 40 pointers will be very blingy. And people may notice it before your ering. Will that bother you or not an issue? Especially if you wear it on your right hand, even you will see it constantly flashing before your eyes (good thing?). I have caught many people following it around with their eyes when I wear mine, even when I wore a 2.59 ering on my left hand.

Maybe it's a nice compromise in your mind and that will make all the difference to you and thus the right decision? Either way, your band will be beautiful!

As far as advance stones, I have purchased one and it was magnificent. I would not be worried one bit as to the quality as Brian will check it over and make sure it qualifies as one of his Signature stones. The only downside is that you have to wait a couple of weeks, LOL! Excited for you!

I got my everyday studs, about .24ct each, from Brian Gavin. They're bright and sparkly and I often get compliments on them even though they're pretty small. I think you can rest assured that any diamonds being cut to BGD's standards, and that passed their inspection, will be beautiful.

As to being able to see the crowns - BGD diamonds will have similar proportions regardless of the size, of course. Whether and how much of the crown you'll be able to see will depend your eyesight ( ;)) ) and the setting. My earrings are set in WF 8-prong settings. The prongs are pretty tiny, and don't reach past the the upper girdle facets, so I can definitely see the "rounded" shape clearly. (https://www.pricescope.com/wiki/diamonds/anatomy-of-round-brilliant-diamond) But - the diamonds were originally set in bezels that were just a bit too high - they totally obscured the girdle facets and reduced the amount of light getting into the diamond. Your diamonds will be beautiful, but you'll want to pay attention to the setting to be sure that you get to fully appreciate that beauty!

Ooh, congrats on getting a 5 stone. I have kcourselle's WF 5 stone (1.55 ct, size 4.25) and it is the one piece I will not live without! It's too blingy to wear with my ER even though my ER is large enough to balance it out (10mm OEC). It looks rather obnoxious together! I usually wear it as a RHR or ER alternate. I don't thing there is much different in mm size between .35 and .40 stones so go with what's in your budget. I'm surprised that BGD doesn't have .35's in stock (I haven't read your posts but have you asked WF too?) I found WF was a little cheaper (IDJ was really well priced too!) When I was pricing out my ring. Enjoy it whrn it arrives!
