Fly Girl takes the garnet out of the drawer and holds it up to the screen. "Yep, that''s the exact color of the garnet."

I''m thinking an upscale ring, or maybe a pendant. Not sure yet. I just know that you have given me a serious case of Umbalite fever.

My 4.71 ct garnet arrived today. It rained all day, so I ended up doing a photoshoot under my GE Reveal light bulb. The stone looks lovely and sparkly, and has lots of color.

Hey, we''re Amethyst twins! Kudos to whoever captured those fantastic red and pink flashes in the photograph. I tried so hard with mine but my camera only picked up the violet and blue tones.

I know!! Heehee maybe someday! We''re not planning on staying in LA forever--I want to move north--but definitely stay in CA. We''d have so much fun!

I''m sorry it has taken me so long to post my ring. It was with the jeweller for two weeks being set.

So, the stone is an 8mm/2.04ct pink tourmaline (posted earlier in this thread). The picture doesn''t show the colour of the stone at all, it looks washed out when it is actually a very bright pink. I wanted to post this as I know someone here was looking at this setting with a pink stone for an engagement ring so I hope my picture helps

Haha.... I had a feeling that was an LOGR! It is lovely. If ever I decide to get a LOGR setting......I will definately make sure I upgrade the stones!!!
