My pleasure...the ring was made by a local jeweler using recycled gold for the band (gold charms donated by my mum and MIL). The bezel cup is a stock setting and I asked for the sides to be cut away to turn it into a semi bezel and the tiny diamonds on each corner came from the shoulders of my gran's engagement ring. It was a bit of a family effort :) The zircon originally came from an antique pin.

Oh I just adore it! :kiss2: Simple, two-toned, a bit of heft, semi-bezel, glorious blue center stone - everything I love in a ring! Thank you for sharing!!!

Oooo, can you tell me more about your blue sapphire???

Sure @Begonia ! It is a 1.47ct blue sapphire from Sri Lanka and measures 6.2mm, with basic heat treatment. I purchased from Mastercut Gems a while back, and Dana had given it the nickname of "The Bomb's Little Sister" because the color was similar to another bigger sapphire named "The Bomb" lol.

The setting is a platinum Gabriel & Co. ring from their Amavida line, which I purchased from ID Jewelry in NY. I have older posts on the stone & finished ring in SMTB too. It definitely the most photogenic in sunlight (sooo glowy) and is one of my favorite pieces :)

@Acinom Haven't decided what to do with the zircon yet, though @Tartansparkles' ring is inspiring me to use yellow gold  Since my last few projects were 3 stone rings and/or diamond halos, I was thinking of doing a solitaire pendant or maybe CS halo ring. I've got some some tsavorite and mahenge spinel melee on the way, so will see how they look together.

FF998A3E-C975-4B15-A488-1F20D92BD9CF.jpeg Green chrysoberyl in a Kiev design cut (139 facets). It has quite an amount of chromium content and glows strongly under UV light. Pic and a really superb cutting are done by adamantgems.com. Im not much after trillons but this is a truely sparklingbomb!!

Thanks @Acinom for the tag re: trillions.

I have only set the Mahenge stone from Yvonne:

698939

The big trillion blue Topaz from Doug is going to be set in an upside down slider pendant with a tucked away bail so that it can be worn 2 ways.

Not sure if I would set the Tanzanite from Jeff D to be honest. The EB Topaz is likely to be set eventually.

Here is a lab Ruby that is already in 2020's queue for setting, however, I may not receive it until next year.

I will admit I haven't set many trillions yet, but I hope to do so next year, especially the paraibas.
PXL_20201216_114108693.jpg
Paraiba trillion cab, smaller paraiba trillions in other designs as melee.
PXL_20201216_114129409.jpg
Trillion Mahenge spinel and spess garnet. They are not quite the neon type, and the concept right now is an hourglass pendant, but that can change...
PXL_20201216_114144913.jpg
Small trillion zircon (top) that I bought as a candidate for my butterfly ring layout, and a kornerupine trillion from The Gem Trader I'm thinking of making into a pendant as well...
IMG_20200909_095452.jpg
Speaking of the butterfly ring, the only trillions I've set are in this ring. Mali garnet and purple spinel from Tanzania. The ovals are mint kornerupine and lilac sapphire, the rounds red spinels, Mahenge spinel, and Afghani emeralds, all untreated.

My Namibian Tourmaline from Rioux Rocks, set in a flower ring design. The pictures show it’s different personalities, outside in the shade on a sunny day and inside at night under artificial lighting.

In the middle a cobalt bearing Gahnite from Nigeria and two Cobaltspinel from Sri Lanka. The Gahnite is 0,60 ct.

Gahnite has a much higher RI (over Limit) and density. Zinc replaces magnesium - both are members of the spinel group. Hardness 8 like magnesio spinel. Cobalt is responsible for the color - Brazilian Gahnite is green.

Thank you! I have a few ideas, but nothing specific planned for those stones yet. I want to make sure I pick ring styles I will wear for these gems, since I’m finding I have a lot of rings I don’t reach for very often.
Do you have plans for your purple garnet reset? Your garnet started my love and appreciation of purple garnets!

It's really beautiful! Such a lovely glow color. Do you mind if I ask what you paid for the stone?

This is extremely rare transparent Hackmanite from Afghanistan.
Tiny stones.

First pic is after longer time in the dark.

Second pic is only the trillion after a few second LW UV. Sulphur is responsible for the tenebrescence.

This is cut appears to be in the same pattern as the madeira citrine I showed, the Supernova Oval designed by Robert Long. I absolutely love this cut because of the big, chunky facets and internal geometry.

Yes! You have a great eye for catching that. Barry was well known for cutting ovals in the Supernova design. I feel lucky to have few from him. The Supernova works so well for ovals and your citrine is beautiful. You can see more Supernova’s cut by Barry throughout this thread :

I freaking love this setting! I’ve never cared for trillions because I can’t figure out a way to set them that feels right but your setting is perfection! I would absolutely love to rock this ring.

Your chrysoberyl is my ideal shade of yellow . So beautiful!
Thanks, I’m biased towards yellow. It is from Brazil, sourced by Rick Martin at ArtCutGems. His website is not actively updated anymore but when I queried, he responded fairly quickly.

@Acinom, I haven’t decided yet, dreaming about having it in a cluster ring together with a bluish lavender spinel and a mint garnet, which I’m still searching for.

Thank you! It‘s a stock setting, so I can’t take credit for the design though ;)). If you ever get a trillion and a similar setting, I would just recommend adding more prongs or using thicker v-prongs. Having only three thin prongs makes me a little nervous to wear her out much.
I love seeing the shapes in your beautiful collection
