I loved this stone from the second you posted the first pic asking for advice. Amazing. Congrats!!!!!!!!!!! :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl:

Thanks soxfan. You and diamondseeker2006 have some of my fav rings on here (I am partial to CvB Inspired Designs). I love CvB; she was the vendor who looked at photos, videos and the GIA cert for me and advised that it was a solid purchase, and she'll likely be resetting this stone for me in about 9-12 months. Since we waaay overshot our budget on the stone, the setting has to wait.

Thank you! Caysie is amazing! Have you seen her "annie" halo? I'm DYING for a cushion in one!!!!!!

Good gracious I'd wear anything that woman designs. For this stone, my early thoughts for a setting are either a modified Giselle like the one below (with the french cut sides):

OR a modified Elsa (I'd request double claw prongs at the corners instead of 6-prong and would probably want the fleur de lis design removed from the gallery):

This diamond is so pretty I don't want the setting to overshadow it.

I should have the ring tonight... the waiting IS the hardest part.

Aww, thank you! I absolutely love Caysie, too! She is such a gifted designer and has great benches, too! That's great that you were able to set the stone so you can enjoy it temporarily until you can reset. I think that's wise anyway so you can be sure of what you want!

I think a Giselle would be fabulous if you prefer not to have a halo, but there are some gorgeous antique halo designs, too! It would be so hard to decide! Of course, with that size diamond, you don't need a halo, so you have many options!

I am now in possession of the ring! It is really beautiful and I cannot wait to see it in daylight. I tried to take some photos but my iPhone was not doing well in artificial light in my house. I'll get some in the car tomorrow morning.

Definitely not complaining, but right now this stone seems really big. I was used to a 7x7mm round for 16 years. I am glad I decided to set it in a solitaire for now to see if I get comfortable with the size (and would consider adding a halo) or if I want to keep it simple. This stone acts much differently than a MRB, it's very interesting and I can already say I like it a lot more. I also love how "puffy" the top is - love the side view of this stone.
