Hi EVERYONE!

I've been looking to upgrade for almost a month now. I think I finally saw something I like. I don't have a picture of the stone, but was wondering if there were any red flags based on the GIA certificate. I didn't notice a bowtie or any mushiness when I looked at it, but I don't know if I was just excited to see a decent stone.

Strong blue fluorescence? I've been reading mixed things about this

Indented- Natural?

Thanks in advance, your thoughts and opinions about this helps

Strong blue fluorescence has bad name with no justification, if you get it for less than non Fluor one.
If you are concerned of a a bow tie ask the vendor to look for you.

You've seen this stone in person and judged it to look nice and perform well? That's a good thing :) but make sure to assess it away from the 'magic lights' that make anything look nice!

Strong fluor shouldn't present any problems with 'oiliness' or 'haziness' but you should check it in daylight / sunlight (not behind a window, which filters most UV light) and perhaps with a UV/blacklight torch (a few dollars from ebay or Amazon) for any visual issues.

The thick to very thick girdle may mean it's hiding weight and reducing spread for the weight - it could be worth checking other options to compare.

thank you for the information! I did look at it in the sunlight/natural light and it was even more sparkly and beautiful then under their lights, but I didn't look at it through a monocular though. I'll take another look when I go back tomorrow.

Do they have an ASETscope at the vendor?

Many don't, but you could purchase one for a reasonable cost from one of the advert links that pops up on here (or I think oldminer's signature has a link) as that way you could assess light return empirically.

I am inclined to say that you nay not want/need it, though - from what I've seen on here, most ovals perform very badly on ASETscope  and if you want an oval and have found one that you like, there is perhaps nothing to be gained from confirming it's not perfect in terms of ASET imaging!
