I talked to Leon yesterday, I decided on a simple solitaire with no cathedral. Not sure about the direction of the diamond yet, but I am leaning towards east-west. My bf also likes E-W better. I really want a flatter shank so that there is not too much space between my fingers. I am not used to wearing any jewelry and when I was trying on rings at the store the flatter ones seemed more comfortable. Leon said that it would be fine. I was surprised because I heard that he always advises against flat shanks. Does anyone here have rings that are on a flatter side from Leon? I would love to see one.

Also, I wanted to send the diamond in next week before Leon goes on his 2 week vacation, but should I get insurance before sending it?
