I received my yellow sapphire open ring last Monday but hadn't posted any pics yet (it's pictured in the yellow thread).
Just thought I would post some pics in person, and I've also decided to go ahead and have a mahenge spinel ring made in the same style to wear with it; I like to stack these in groups of two. I'm hoping the yellow and pink combo will be a cheerful pair. My apologies on the yellow pics; since there are two of them and the angle is odd, they are hard to capture well. I think it's a very cute ring though. The yellows are only 3.5 mm, and the mahenges are a bit larger at 4.45 mm each, so that ring will be a bit bigger (I have a couple of other open rings with similar sized gems, ranging from 3.5 mm to 4.1 mm, so these spinels will be the largest. I love this style for smaller gems, it's casual and comfortable to wear).
And the mahenge spinels. I'm kind of curious if anyone has any thoughts on the spinels. I am buying based on these pics, but I believe that the pricing on these is very good for what I'm getting, and I think these will be great for this style ring. I'm curious if anyone wants to venture a suggested price range/price per carat for these gems; I'm getting the pair on the right. I don't think I could get similar quality or pay less than what I'm paying elsewhere, so I'm quite happy. BUT these are my first spinels of any type, ever, so I know only the basics about spinel from what I've read online. They are each 4.45 mm round, tcw .78. The little white lines are (obviously?) fuzzies, and I'm told that there is no windowing to the gems, so I'm assuming the far right gem is just a little tilt window or the gem not showing well in the pic. Anyway, I like the gems, so I'm buying them - but if anyone has any critiques or thoughts I'm happy to hear them. I think the open style ring will be a nice, fairly inexpensive way to enjoy wearing these gems.
And just for fun: I got a new cuff yesterday, I LOOOOVE stacking skinny cuffs, and I just picked up the wider 5 mm 14k gold hammered cuff, so I snapped a pic
