I received my yellow sapphire open ring last Monday but hadn't posted any pics yet (it's pictured in the yellow thread).

Just thought I would post some pics in person, and I've also decided to go ahead and have a mahenge spinel ring made in the same style to wear with it; I like to stack these in groups of two. I'm hoping the yellow and pink combo will be a cheerful pair. My apologies on the yellow pics; since there are two of them and the angle is odd, they are hard to capture well. I think it's a very cute ring though. The yellows are only 3.5 mm, and the mahenges are a bit larger at 4.45 mm each, so that ring will be a bit bigger (I have a couple of other open rings with similar sized gems, ranging from 3.5 mm to 4.1 mm, so these spinels will be the largest. I love this style for smaller gems, it's casual and comfortable to wear).

And the mahenge spinels. I'm kind of curious if anyone has any thoughts on the spinels. I am buying based on these pics, but I believe that the pricing on these is very good for what I'm getting, and I think these will be great for this style ring. I'm curious if anyone wants to venture a suggested price range/price per carat for these gems; I'm getting the pair on the right. I don't think I could get similar quality or pay less than what I'm paying elsewhere, so I'm quite happy. BUT these are my first spinels of any type, ever, so I know only the basics about spinel from what I've read online. They are each 4.45 mm round, tcw .78. The little white lines are (obviously?) fuzzies, and I'm told that there is no windowing to the gems, so I'm assuming the far right gem is just a little tilt window or the gem not showing well in the pic. Anyway, I like the gems, so I'm buying them - but if anyone has any critiques or thoughts I'm happy to hear them. I think the open style ring will be a nice, fairly inexpensive way to enjoy wearing these gems.

And just for fun: I got a new cuff yesterday, I LOOOOVE stacking skinny cuffs, and I just picked up the wider 5 mm 14k gold hammered cuff, so I snapped a pic ;-)

Your yellow sapphires look great. Where do you find all your pairs?

Thanks! They're the first yellow gems I've ever bought, I usually stick to blue and green, but lately I've been trying to branch out a little bit. Those sapphires were just really pretty to me, brilliant and unheated/untreated - it was kind of an impulse buy.

I'll post a link to where I got them from:

That's such a fun stone ring and one I've never seen before. It'll be beautiful stacked with the spinels.

Thank you Rosebloom! I have two others that are mixed metal, silver for the band with gold bezels; this was my first one in all 14k gold, and I like it better than the mixed metal style. My spinels will be set the same way as the yellow sapphires. Here's pics of my others, they are blue color change garnets and demantoids. I love the style, you can use nice gems but since they're under the 5 mm mark they're still affordable :)

Sorry for my paper cut finger in the second photo - yuck, lol. I just noticed it, oh well.

Very fun to wear and soon you'll have all the basic or main colours. I would ask if the spinels become brownish or orangish indoors.

I will do that, thank you Chrono. I appreciate the advice.

I am excited to have yellow, pink, green and blue rings in this style. The cc garnet does double duty (it changes to purple really beautifully). I'm not sure which color to do next, lol. Any suggestions? Maybe I could find some little orange spessartites, or some Burma red spinel. I know my favorite seller has some really nice Burma reds in the right size range. I really didn't intend to collect so many of these; it's just happened.

Beautiful collection! The yellow sapphires made me smile as they just look like spring! (Which it does not look like here today). I LOVE you cuff bracelets!

Those look really cool! A really cool alternative to stackers. Can you wear them sort of staggered so that they're not all lined up?

Also, your sapphires look great. Do they look greener set, as you had worried? They don't in the picture.

I also really like the peek of your wedding set (?). Is that a faux bois band? Love that idea.

Aprilbaby - I love cuffs so much! They're fun to stack and mix and match. That pic has 5 cuffs, purchased from 3 different etsy sellers. Three are from LilianGinebra, and the solid gold ones are from SamanthaMcIntosh and TheresaPytell. Just in case anyone wants to get one :)

Here's a pic of the bracelets I generally wear on my other arm; the blue gem is a tourmaline, it photographs a bit darker than it really is, it's such a pretty ice-y blue in person. The flower station bracelet is made up of tiny blue/green garnets with a tiny yellow diamond in the middle; it is kind of spring-like too! The mixed metal hearts were made by Stephanie at Metalicious, one for each of my sons (they say "C" and "J").

I hope no one minds the pics just for fun in this thread, I like sharing pics and viewing others' pics :)

Thank you for the compliments! I actually do wear the open rings staggered - I only line them up like that for pics, lol. They sort of just naturally want to stagger themselves, if that makes sense.

The yellows look great in person, not green as I had feared. I think I was just reacting to the slight change in appearance from them being set - you know how being enclosed in the bezels makes them look darker than when they are unset. They do look very "golden" yellow in color, not as "yellowy" as I thought they would be - I'm not sure how to describe it, I'm not great with the subtleties in colors yet, I have a lot to learn.

The rings on my ring finger are not my original wedding rings, but I wear them as my wedding set. I had a diamond engagement ring and a simple band, but over the years I've realized I'm just not that into diamonds, I LOVE CS so much more. I've been married 13 years now, and my style has changed a lot since then, so I switched things up. I still have my original set but it's just kept for sentimental reasons, I literally never wear it. Now I wear a mint garnet next to my band, of course they don't actually match, but I like the look. The band was made by etsy jeweler EveryBearJewel (her name is Setsuko, and she does really lovely work, I own a few of her pieces). The finishing on her rings is like the fabulous final touch.

I think my mixing and matching is probably a bit much for some people, but I love it so much, my jewelry just makes me very happy and brightens my day! So I wear what I like even if it looks odd, lol.

Just found out that my mahenge open ring is finished and shipping tomorrow, SO excited! I can't wait to stack it next to the yellow sapphire buddies :). I do have a couple of quick pics from Yvonne but I will probably wait until it arrives to post any; I just wanted to give an update bc I'm excited.
