I'm pretty sure my FI would flip if I even mentioned this to him, but I'm wishing here...

I'm happy with my current stone, BUT DSS has sunk in a little...

My current stone is a light brown O-P VVS2 .77ct, I could upgrade to a 1.55ct also light brown (a bit darker) I2 for $800 more! Same super awesome optics and all - Would you do it?

I can't see any carbon spots, and if for some crazy reason I was given the "ok" to do this, i'd have to be sure the I2 didn't pose structural risks...

i'd insert the GIA plot, but for some reason i can't insert an image at the moment!

I love size and the price is good but I would have to be convinced to switch clarity.

keep trying to post the plot please

My first upgrade diamond was graded D, SI2 by EGL and after a GIA report it came back F I1. Now with that said I LOVE this diamond and I still am in denial it was ever graded I1 as you can't see anything and it is completely eye clean. So if the larger diamond makes you happy and $800 is affordable, then as long it is structural sound and no clarity issues I would say GO FOR IT!

I would +1 SB's advice as long as it was structurally sound and your SO is ok w it!

It is an AVR diamond? Those are gorgeous.

But what is that long red line going from the center up to the top? Is that a feather? Does it break the surface?

Do it!

But first, run it by your DH, I had to do a bit of convincing when I wanted to change my e ring so fast. He gave in of course, bit I think if it would have been a surprise he wouldn't have been so happy.

That feather is red in the diagram is assume no?

I have a stone with a visible inclusion at 6 inches. Honestly I'm so happy with the stone I don't even care. Give me size and sparkle and I can forgive a few beauty marks!

Whatever that line is, imo, it is quite obvious in the photo provided. I know the photo is magnified, but ....

I wasn't remarking if it would be visable, just that I don't think its surface breaking.

I think it's quite obvious because the photo is magnified. ;)) :halo:

Go for it, OP!!

i love you guys....!! have a few things that would have to come first before i could pull the trigger on it, so hopefully by the new year it'll still be there. but yes it is an AVR, which is also what I currently own (and LOVE) but i'd also have to purchase a new setting, since I'd be doubling the size...thankfully i'm perfectly OK with a plain solitaire, so long as it's RG - then again i wonder if i could just change the head on my current setting.

EDIT: i'm ok with visible inclusions, so long as it's not a carbon spot...and it doesn't seem that any of the carbon spots are visible.
