Would you buy one of these diamonds? (w/ idealscope)

My choice is the first choice because of size, I am thinking the diamond will be eye clean and you will not see those clouds although I could be wrong. BUT, in terms of area its only 1.5mm square bigger! I am not an expert therefore asking for your input! I have been looking hard for the right diamond.... what do you think? All opinions welcome!

They are both inside my price range.

I get 39.1 mm^2 for #1, so it's almost 2mm^2 difference, a little more than 5% bigger than #2. I also see more color in #2, I think #1 is whiter. What's the price difference?

BTW stop considering HCA once you have IS.

I tend to like the chunkier arrows like in the first one, but the second one has proportions I like. Both of them look fine in their IS images. Did the gemologist have a preference?

Pricing for # 1 is $7970, #2 $8400.

The gemologist stated this:

"The 1.31 carat-H-SI2 (diamond 257580; $7,970) was not recommended because the clouds in the diamond are negatively affecting the light performance. It is also giving the diamond a hazy appearance. The other two diamonds do face up "eye clean" and all three are a nice, white color."

He also stated this regarding #2 "It has an excellent amount of brilliance (white light return), fire (dispersion of color) and sparkle that is well balanced and symmetrical."

JamesAllen representative (they are extremely helpful and honest).

"The gemologist did say that the clouds in the diamond are visible and causing a haze over the diamond, giving it the weakest performance. I can however, assure you that while the trained eye of the gemologist is able to see the clouds and haziness, the average untrained eye would never pick up on it. The 1.31 carat is facing up the largest and is also offering the best value. If I was in your shoes, I would go with that one and see it for myself and if in my eyes I did not like it, then I would send it back and exchange it for another."

On one hand, it's kind of like having a stone you can't ever get 100% clean. On the other hand, real life daily wear means that diamonds almost always some level of oil and dust on them.

Yes, I do agree that the haze of SI2 clouds is very subtle and a regular person would have to be looking out for it. Personally, for me, it isn't "mind-clean;" bizarre since I don't even mind other, visible inclusions.
