Will the Dahlia setting work with this diamond?

I just had an idea, thinking that maybe drawing inspiration from one of my existing rings would give me the best of both worlds.

This head with the bezel being yellow gold and keeping the scalloped flowery halo and the airline:

It’s funny because I am wearing that ring on my right hand (I call her Martha Washington) and looked down and the lightbulb went off!

Your gorgeous stone’s color reminds me of my omc’s and I have tried many many settings with it before realizing it belongs in this halo.

Haha. Thanks. Hopefully the pics help you! I preferred my stone in the halo to contrast the color but also enhance it with the buttery yellow.

I am late to the party on this discussion!
I voted to keep the halo. As you stated earlier, I think that the Dahlia is pretty, but the stone will look much smaller without the halo. And the contrasting white diamonds enhance the champagne color. I like it as-is.
But hey, don't listen to me. It's all about what YOU like.

@stracci2000, I’m working on a new design that will keep the white diamonds and still give the flower effect I love. I’ve kind of shifted focus from acquiring to making what I currently have the best it can be. Luckily my other pieces came to me in pretty good shape, so this will be the biggest project I undertake.

@stracci2000, Yes, pretty much a bigger version of Martha. I’m working with David Klass and he seems to be excited about it so that’s a plus too.
