Will such a TEENY, TINY difference in MM size between 2 stones be visible??

I think this is more lifelike....
if the diamond was mounted on your screen, yes, but not if held 10" away as they're typically observed.

Well I purposely changed the order of the diamonds so as not to influence, and you are all correct:

in the animation, the first diamond is the bigger one,
in the picture, the right diamond is the bigger one

So aren''t you glad you ordered the big one!

Well, I puposely erred on the small side, so she didn''t stare at the pics and was then dissapointed thinking the real thing looked small, but I don''t think in real life they''re going to look anywhere near as big as you made the last set. But I could be totally wrong, it will be interesting to hear what she thinks.

Ya''ll are hilarious! This is getting good! I did sense the TINIEST size difference in the size comparison -- but how did you do that? Is it my imagination or did you actually give the 2.86 carat stone a smaller table? (Which is true in real life) -- Or am I seeing things? I''m worried the smaller table will look weird to me...or will I barely notice? (It''s 54.2%)

Ya''ll are too funny! Or should I say you guys are too funny. Can''t remember who (was it lyra?)who "giggled" at my southernish use of the term "ya''ll"? Or maybe I should say "you''z guys" for you true Northerners. Dialects crack me up!

I went to college in NC (Salem College in Winston-Salem, NC) and many of the girls there (it was an all-female college) were from the DEEP south, including my roommate. At the time I heard myself picking up some of her little expressions. My favorite was "I''m fixin'' to..." -- as in "I don''t want to watch David Letterman. I ''m fixin'' to go to bed." Fixin'' to, obviously, means you''re getting ready to do something.

Well, I better go. I''m fixin'' to do some laundry so I can get my mind off the "perty" rock that should be on its way to me in a few days...

I don''t think you did anything wrong, you were just showing what how big it would look at about 20" (monitor distance) and the brain automatically gets a feel for the size at 10"--that''s why it looks right.

I''m doing more of a "look-through" thing here - so if you hold you hand 10" away and look through to the screen, you''ll get an idea of how big it appears on your finger - it should take occupy about half a finger width.

No, it just worked out that way because I assumed both stones were AGS-0's - the deeper stone here leading to a smaller table.

Wow! Very cool! Thanks so much everyone for the comparison detective work!

I plan to see for myself on Monday when my little box arrives from James Allen...

I cannot wait! Just wish my hubby would be with me -- but he won''t. He''s on a business trip from Monday AM to Thursday PM. If I were a "normal" girl. I''d wait to open it when he gets home on Thursday night...but something tells me I just can''t do that. Plus I MUST open it during the day. What torture to first see it at night --and not be able to play with natural light that very moment!

Maybe I could take it on a trip to the grocery store. Man, do diamonds dance under those lights!! That''s really the only thing I enjoy about grocery shopping...

We built a mudroom a few months ago between the garage and our kitchen, which has been unbelievebly useful by the way, but anyway --I installed these cool Pottery Barn brushed nickel track lights (for lack of a better term) in there and they use halogen bulbs. Diamonds really sparkle under those lights also...so I can''t wait to admire this rock under those lights too. Isn''t that sad? I''ll be a 42 year old woman spending way too much time in her mudroom next week...

Yes!

And really, you don''t want to wait to open it anyway, as you only have so many days to observe, right?

Good point, Ellen...

You convinced me. I have no choice but to open the box as soon as it arrives....

It didn''t sound like you needed much convincing!
