I love seeing everyone’s lovely rings, but I can’t help but notice there’s so many more ring projects than other jewelry types... full disclosure, I am researching for my next earring project.... and ETA how many rings do you own/have in your active rotation?

Because I can see and enjoy them (not so with earrings or most pendants).
And I see them as more secure than my bracelets (although I have three diamond bracelets on right now).

What type of earrings are you planning?

Ah! Make sense! I try to see my earrings thru my rear view mirror all the time while driving, especially if there’s traffic.

I just discovered PS and just got some new diamond studs, already I am lusting after some sapphire and diamond cluster earrings...

Yes, I agree, something you can enjoy seeing on your own hand anytime you look down. That’s the appeal of rings.
I love earrings and necklaces too, but I need a mirror, wait, yes I have one here.
Beautiful.

I love all jewellery, but particularly I love rings. As @cflutist said, I enjoy being able to see & admire them. I also think your rings say a lot about you as a person & in particular, your wedding set. You wear these rings forever, so they should reflect taste & personality, and for me at least, should be the biggest investment. I have a few pretty & valuable things, but for me (as much as it scratches my children regularly) having a D VS2 engagement ring & matching grade eternity was imposrtant, as these are specs I'll probably never have in anything else, lottery win aside!

I like rings...I cannot wear earrings anymore, I seldom wear bracelets or necklaces so I wear rings, I just counted I have 20 rings but honestly only wear 5...but I have lost alot of weight and I havent had them sized yet

I'm an earring girl. Yes you can see your own rings and that makes it special for sure. I love gazing at my rings whenever I want to and watching the light play and the chunky facets etc. but at heart I am an earring girl. At most I am wearing my ER and a band or two and very occasionally a right hand ring. At max. But earrings allow me to express my change of moods more so than rings. If I'm feeling blue, or more dramatic, or more subtle, or more playful, or more sassy, etc. all I do is change my earrings and voila. I am in business. And I love catching a glimpse of the earrings whenever I do in the store windows or rear view mirror or just feeling the swish and sway and gentle movement of my dangles. Makes me feel feminine and pretty and confident.

That's why I love Pricescope though because I get to enjoy all different types of bling. Rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, designer jewelry, antique diamonds, modern cuts, precision cut gems etc. It's an endless feast for the eyes. I cannot afford an endless amount of jewels but enjoying and gazing upon all the beautiful pieces here is free. Thanks Pricescope and Pricescopers!:appl:

Good luck on your earring project @Rubybrick. Please keep us posted!

I like all jewellery but my projects are mainly rings because that's the jewellery I prefer to wear.
My ears are pierced but easily half close up and get infected when I wear earrings so I just go without. I may have them redone at a tattoo parlour later though so I can wear earrings and set them in platinum and see if it helps as we suspect I got infected all the time from allergies to pretty much everything except platinum.
I really don't wear bracelets or necklaces much because of rashes so all thats left anyway is my favourite and that's rings. Rings are more visible and I like looking at them so that's a big part of my preference too :)

@Alex T lovely pear in your avitar!
@diamondringlover 20 ring is quite a collection! I really can only picture 2-3 rings for myself.
@missy I feel very similarly about earrings as away to express my moods, and since I am sensitive to metal fashion rings are hard for me to wear for more then a few hours. Luckily WG seems to be fine right now so I am looking forward to more earrings projects.
@MeowMeow for a while I could only wear platinum comfortably on my ears too, but for some reason I can wear WG now, hopefully you will be able to enjoy some earrings with your re-piercing.

i enjoy rings because i can see them all the time lol! i am also quite fidgety so i like having something on my hands. i currently have five rings in rotation and a single plain rose gold band that never comes off.

I want a little of everything!! I'm currently on a bracelet kick! My desire for bling alternates depending on my next want. Rings are enjoyable because you can see them and enjoy the sparkle most of the time.

I too like rings bc you can see them, stack them/change them and create many different looks. I probably have 40 wedding bands

I love earrings! I have lots of studs and several diamond hoops.

Oh I hope so lol. My husband is constantly disappointed that I only ask for rings because of it lmao. I'm glad your allergies improved!

Ha, I'm the same! Plain rose gold band never comes off or husband pouts. Otherwise, rotate away!

I currently have around 12 rings, with 2 more joining the collection soon. Same as everyone else, I just like looking down at sparkles. Especially during yoga class, when holding long poses, it's a lot more rewarding when you can look at something shiny! =)

I have an Art Deco pendant in the works. Hopefully my next birthday present. But in answer to your question I have 15 right hand rings in the rotation although I must admit I wear 9 of them more than the others. I also switch out bands with my ER.

Thank you for giving me a good reason to go back to my yoga class!

I absolutely adore earrings, used to be an earrings girl all the way. It is true that rings are for us to take pleasure in all day long but earrings really add to a person´s face so I guess they are for others to take pleasure in us in a way. ;))

I fell for rings hard too and lately am making more and more ring projects. That said I have an earring project coming up too. To me another important reason for making rings is that I love statement earrings and due to my super long neck and virtually no earlobes I need longer dangle earrings but if I consider the cost of getting two instead of one larger diamonds to make what I really want and also doubling the cost of making the piece, that would be another significant reason for more ring projects than say earring projects.

Bracelets I do not wear anymore and I love necklaces sometimes but they are not so much for everyday in my opinion (unless you are wearing a simpler pendant).

i lose earrings more than anything else so i won't buy any that are more than ~$40. i hardly wear bracelets and i am paranoid about losing nice jewelry so one or two things to keep track of at a time is enough. if i was going to spend on another project, it would be a ring for a lot of the reasons others discussed - you can see them, switch them up for different looks, etc. i have my wedding set, a birthstone ring, a travel/stand-in ring, a couple of wide bands, and a couple of inexpensive colored stone cocktail rings. that seems like a lot now that i type it out. :eek2:

10 fingers but only 1 neck, 2 wrists and 1 pair of ears. It's much easier to wear 5 rings and not look tacky than to wear than 5 pairs of earrings.

I think most of the time earrings are one off purchases like studs.

You can have so much variety of rings!!!!

Also, I can’t take pictures of my ears to save my life. I really want to do a SMTB on my studs but DANG ear shots are impossible.

Try taking it in a mirror reversing the camera. I find that’s easier. But yes ear shots are challenging. Wanna see your studs pretty please. :appl:

since I don't wear dangly earrings, only smaller hoops or studs, mainly due to slightly uneven piercings which drive my symmetrical self nuts, I don't own a lot of earrings. Studs in white, yellow and rose and a few pair of diamond hoops. But I can enjoy a variety of ring styles from modern to vintage and therefore can tell myself that I "need" a ring, where I would normally not say that about earrings, unless of course to upgrade/upsize my studs! And like the others, I can see the rings, so seem to enjoy them more.

I grew up in an era when most men did not wear earrings, especially in places like Idaho, where I am from. I fell in love with gems when I was stationed in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. I also fell in love with my wife of nearly 45 years, who bought me my first ring, a custom made wedding ring, which I lost while snorkeling in Okinawa only a month or two after we were married.

I have made a couple of large pendants which I wear with a turtleneck shirt in lieu of a tie. I have to admit though, that nothing pleases me as much as sitting in a restaurant with tiny ceiling lights and watching my rings throw light all around the place, especially when so much of it is right back in my eyes.

I would probably write more about why, but the ring I am wearing at the breakfast table keeps pulling my attention away from everything else...

Like others, I love rings because I can see them. Bracelets have that appeal as well, I suppose, but I don't have the prettiest wrists. I come from a part of the world where little girls get their ears pierced, and my parents gave us real jewelry as earrings (I had ruby studs), but we didn't get any other jewelry until we were grown--which seemed so unfair because I couldn't really see and enjoy earrings. The fact that so many of us enjoy rings because we can see them gives the lie to the idea that jewelry is about showing off--at least for many of us. In fact, I'm MORE likely to wear showy jewelry at home than when out and about.

Lol @Rhea, sooo true! I can only wear rings on four fingers but yes it is nice matching, stacking and so many options!
@bludiva that is also true! I get paranoid especially when travelling that I will lose my earrings or necklace, I keep touching and checking if they are still there. With rings it is easy, I see them all the time, they do not fall off and I really feel them. I feel naked when I do not have them on. Also, a robber would have a much easier time tearing off my necklace or my dangle earrings than to get my rings off. Good luck with that, I have pretty large knuckles and they may have a hell of a time trying and could take some time!
@Wink so nice that you wear jewelry! I love jewelry on men when it is done tastefully but I agree that a special ring and a necklace/pendant in addition maybe is nicer than earrings. I love a gorgeous diamond ring on a guy. Kudos to you that you can pull it off!

The easiest way is looking in a mirror. That way you can see what your phone camera is seeing.
