I feel like I’ve been posting all over the place lately so thought I’d post this here. Latest acquisition of a serious ruby bender I’ve been on lately. She is 18ct yellow gold with platinum top and shoulders, old cut diamonds and a colored stone sold to me as synthetic ruby but idk, I see an inclusion there so that give me pause.

I’ve been trying to find a cluster ring with this color stone (or close to) for a while and man, they are expensive, so when this popped up I had to grab it. Was thinking yesterday that a curved band would be great with this ring (because Pearl’s ring tends to slip underneath) then remembered that I had this curved band that didn’t really work with any of my other rings. Last pic is just to show all the rubies together.

:kiss2: The curved band fits it perfectly!! How serendipitous!

Right? How crazy is that? I guess there was a reason I had it up for sale and nobody bought it. Worked out in the end.

I replied to you in my head but apparently didn’t type it out, sorry @stracci2000.

I’ll does look like there are two 18ct stamps, so weird as I have never seen a ring with two gold hallmarks and one is upside down. Yeah, glad I still have the curved band, didn’t have high hopes of finding a ring that would work with it.

Was that you? I heard a faint reply, and I looked around, but no one was there, haha!
What is the consensus about age on the cluster ring?

Ha! That was me not the voices in your head ;-)

This was sold to me as art deco but I think it’s more Victorian based on input from the other thread. It’s unusual though having an 18k yellow gold shank and a platinum top. I’ve tried to find something similar and no luck.

Interesting thing, the diamonds are very included, they are old cuts, they mostly show white all the time. It works because it lets the pink stone be the star.

My unofficial opinion is that it's 1890-1915. Based on style and construction.
May I inquire elsewhere for other opinions?

DH suggested we try a consignment shop not from from us. He had me at “they have toys and jewelry”. Best of both worlds for us.

First find, this silver bracelet with white stones, any idea what they are @stracci2000? It does fit me perfectly but obviously needs a polish.

Then I was excited to find a two tone watch chain, I thought it was gold filled but that stamp looks like 14k. So that is the find of the day I think.

And snagged this silver bangle stamped 925 and another mark that is too worn to make out.

@Starstruck8 I was thinking maybe chalcedony, thanks, it is very nicely made. It’s always a nice surprise to find something like this among a bunch of cheap costume jewelry.

@stracci2000, I think it is just about 16”, I can wrap it twice around my wrist but it’s a bit tight, so I’ll have to find a little something to extend it a bit. I was excited though because I got a Stracci deal on it ;-)

Selenite, going to look that up!

@Starstruck8, I had to look up chatoyant! Yes, they are, I have never heard of selenite, learning all kinds of new things today!

You go girl!!
That chain is a treasure. Don't you love it when you see value in things that other people miss?

The best feeling! It was literally just hanging among a bunch of gold plated costume stuff. It’s not easy to see, but the white gold links are not flat, they are three dimensional!

I pulled some links off of another watch chain I had to add length and here is the result. I never take off the heart necklace so both of these will be daily drivers. Excuse the ratty t-shirt!

I was driving down the road when the pawnshop called out to me like the Sirens calling Ulysses.
Pawnshop aura is irresistible, so I had to pull over.
It was this nice Navajo sterling cuff, waiting there for me.

Here are a few things I found recently.

A sweet vintage double heart ring box.
I added a few OECs for the photo shoot.

And here's an 8" portrait plate from about 1900.

And this sterling braided collar was just sitting in the thrift store, and no one bothered to see the sterling mark except me!

Don't you wish ring boxes always came pre-loaded with OEC's? I know I do!! :lol-2:

Also, I was just thinking to myself yesterday, Man, the Haul thread has been too quiet lately. I need a fix! So thank you for delivering!

You know I already gushed over that collar necklace when you found it but it really is a great find and looks so perfect on you. Also you are a lucky duck on that double ring box, the old ring boxes are so hard to find now, so to find a double is really something special. @stracci2000

I've only worn the collar necklace around the house so far, but is comfortable and fits just right. And it was from a thrift store, so it was practically free.
I was so happy to see the ring box! It was only $3.00! The patent number on the bottom was applied for in 1931, but I don't know if the box is that old. What do you think?

I'm always looking for ring boxes. I don't have any really awesome ones like I keep seeing on IG, but I'm always looking!

We need a "ring box" thread.....!
