Hey guys! I'm over here keeping the haul thread going
@StephanieLynn , the pink sapphire is awesome! So vibrant!
And I like the old box. Boxes are mysterious. You can keep jewelry, money, weed:naughty:, or other secret things in there! You gotta love 'em.
Anyway, I went to a few sales on Friday, and I found these two lovely head vases. They had netting and flowers in them, so charming! IMG_20190614_094107854.jpg
And at another sale, I picked up this old baby doll carriage.
It is 18" high.

Weed......:lol-2: I am too straight for my own good but I wouldn't store weed in a velvet box, then it would smell like my dog that just got skunked!

I love your heads especially that girl with the major eyelash game going on, obviously she is a young'
Now you just need some dolls for that baby carriage.

They are similar in size to a large chicken egg.
I wasn't sure what they were at first, and after a little research, I saw similar ones online that were named as salt cellars. But maybe you are right! I will check into spoon warmers!

I'm not completely sure they'd be spoon warmers at that size. The ones I saw were a little bigger. It's worth checking out, though. I've seen a few described as sorbet spoon warmers, too.

It seems that every antique store I see them in they're described as anything from salt cellars to spoon warmers. I've only started to take notice of them recently, but I'll definitely look out for them now as they're rather nice.

For some reason, I couldn't find many garage sales this weekend. But I did score another set of sterling candle stick holders from my favorite thrift store, $4.00

What's going on with sterling being so low now? The very few items I bought are probably less than half the price I paid for them. Those are beautiful @stracci2000. I can't believe how little you paid.

The thrift store had no idea that these were sterling.
This is about the 5th time I found solid sterling pieces at this location.
They are priced as plate, and displayed amongst the plated stuff. I guess nobody there is reading the marks on the bottom, except me!

We went to some antique/ junk shops today. I'm always crossing my fingers that I'll get lucky and find some amazing deal on an under valued art deco jewel....but no luck today.
But I was so stoked to find this Mucha poster of Sarah Bernhardt. I love the Mucha posters and had never seen this one before.

Nice find! Art Nouveau stuff is so cool!
Yes, it's hard to come by fine antique jewelry in the thrift/pawn/vintage shops. But I keep looking!

I went to a fantastic antiques show this past weekend. A lot of beautiful and authentic jewelry.

My first purchase was this Fenton glass opalescent dog, figured it would go well with my Avon glass dogs. I looked up the history of Fenton but couldn't find which time period they produced the dogs.
20190625_100157.jpg
There was a silent auction benefitting a nonprofit farm in the area. I won this set of vintage horse bridle rosettes.
20190625_100235.jpg
There was a vendor selling a lot of antique and vintage prints. This one caught my eye. It was from a 1909 issue of Ladies Home Magazine. The column on the right keeps talking about biscuits.
20190625_100028.jpg
And my most prized piece just yet! A victorian glass jewelry box from late 18th century/early 1910. It is missing a piece of one of the legs, I plan on doing some light restoration work on it this weekend to get it standing back up in it's full glory.

Cool jewelry boxes! I was born in Waterbury, although I don't think I've ever heard of Ciarlone Jewelers. I do remember Savitt Jewelers. They were huge here in CT. "Peace of Mind Guaranteed!" (POMG) I can still hear the old guy's gravely voice calling out that slogan on the radio/TV ads.

You check out that velvet color? We had appliances that color growing up :mrgreen2:

Cool finds, Steph! The pendants and pin are so sweet, especially the two sterling pieces. Love that tiger eye! However, the celluloid boxes are my favorite! I have yet to see celluloid jewelry boxes at a yard sale, but I'm looking!
It's interesting how you and @Rubymal are both are showing camphor glass today!

@stracci2000 yeah except hers is the real deal, I found out mine is a cz report that was sold on HSN!

The celluloid boxes were in with boxes that the Cheers lady gives people who buy jewelry and of course I had to have them. Asked her if they were for sale, everything is for sale for a price lol! I paid $10 for all three boxes.

Before Toys R' Us went out of business DH bought a couple of the shopping baskets (yes I thought he was crazy). This is actually one of the older ones from the 80's and I came into the livingroom to find my youngest in it

Sterling, silver plate and crystal items are now selling super cheap on Ebay and at flea markets. I have a pair of Waterford candlesticks I got as a wedding present that were $300 in 1988. I saw them on an Ebay site a while back for under $100. The younger folks are not interested in fine china, crystal and silver anymore. Lalique and Baccarat still hold value.

More sterling! A covered butter dish mixed in with all the plated pieces at an estate sale. I paid $8.00. The estate sale people apparently didn't know this one was not plated.
IMG_20190627_140451.jpg
At the same sale, I found a Wedgwood dish, dating between 1908- 1929

@stracci2000 you have a gift for the sterling, I always find the plated stuff. There are some people who bring sterling into Cheers, they literally come in with all this cut up scrap, can only imagine how beautiful some of this pieces were :cry2:

Love your Wedgewood, would look great in your cabinet!

Ah thanks @stracci2000, he is a ham (I know you totally can't tell that by the picture). One of my favorite things he has ever done was when we were sitting down to eat dinner and he was dancing in front of his chair and I asked him what he was doing. He said he was dancing to get the cat to move out of his chair  Any other kid would have just pushed the cat or picked it up but not this kid. He will be five in 10 days!

Today's hauls from my outing with @natasha-cupcake.

Musical Egg plays "Here Comes the Sun". I unfortunately dropped this and chipped it at the bottom but could have been worse.

Snow White bubble bath from 1993 brand new

These really cool fold-out fairytale books that I really debated about but these are just too cute.
