Photos don’t do this justice! I’m super excited.
Found an antique scrubbed pine kitchen table, about 5’ long for about $150 and didn’t hesitate. Hauled it home and carried it in all by myself! Can’t wait to cover it in fresh beeswax. The top has ‘elbow area’ wear at one end so I think it was used for casual dining, not just food prep. I love it!

Made a stop at Goodwill to donate stuff...yeah you know how that goes. Anyways I found this Fenton Jack in the Pulpit vase ( I believe the pattern on the bottom is referred to as fish scale), I believe this could be Vaseline glass but need a black light to test it. I don't know much about glass but it was $5 figured it's worth at least that.

Then I found this mirror, it's not antique, plastic frame so mid-century but has a pretty design. Paid $16 for it.

Fenton is always a good find! Such a nice piece, and Fenton is quality stuff.
I would be tempted to keep that one.
There are many Fenton collectors out there!
The mirror is pretty, too. You can hang it in the dining room with that fancy chandelier you have!

@stracci2000, my goodness that mirror would have appealed to me in my over the top mafia wife phase I went through in my 20's. I had this huge cherub planter hanging on the wall with all these flowers coming out of it, marble and lead crystal, it was crazy. Now it's a little more toned down lol!

The vase was just kind of sitting on the shelf, I don't know if it was just put out or if people thought it was ugly but that's okay with me!

Haha @StephanieLynn I had a big cherub phase too, along with the silk flower boughs over everything basically. I do have a nice antique mirror like that, but slightly wonky oval and very heavy glass, definitely old. We bought it over 30 years ago and it was $100, which seems like a lot now--people are virtually dumping the things I so wanted back in the day!

Well, it's similar to the one in the pic. How do I take a pic of it without showing myself, lol?

What I did was stand off to the side and take the picture from an angle. Just remember to consider whatever it's reflecting that will be in the picture like naked people and such

I have some etsy and ebay finds to share! I have this vintage inspired pin cushion I picked up from an antiques fair a while back. It came with two beaded pins but I figured it could use a bit more pizazz. The seller had these listed as 1910-1930s stick pins. I didnt really bother looking too deep into authenticating that because they're cute and were not badly priced. The pin with the stone in it does have the standard "swirl" design on the stick part which I believe is a sign of it being handmade.

The pearl brooch is also from the same seller. All of these came all the way from the Netherlands.

This was a vintage CZ, sterling silver ring that I thought had a really peculiar design. To me, it almost looks handmade. I decided to do some cleanup on the tarnish and made a collage of before and after.
    PhotoGrid_1561836842066.jpg
I also picked up a camphor glass pendant (finally!) that I'm planning on wearing for my bridal shower this weekend.

I have some more goodies on the way that I'll share soon. :)

Your pink sapphire looks gorgeous in its new home! As if it was made for it! Please never change it- its honestly the sweetest ring ever. I'm green with envy! Also your son is such a cutie! Ooh and I almost forgot- isnt @PreRaphaelite the best?! I was very lucky to purchase this 18k rose gold toi et moi with a natural pearl from her and with a lot of grace and kindness from a fellow PSer who decided to let me snag it instead. Right now it has a self-set Columbian emerald in it and I just adore it! I cant wait to find the perfect Emmy and have the prongs properly rebuilt.
    20190630_160946.jpg

@CHRISTY-DANIELLE That picture is to die for! Its seriously so lovely! I would slap that baby in any room but for some reason It would call to me to be hung in the powder room. :kiss2: Lucky girl!

@PreRaphaelite That table is so witchy! I love it! I can picture it with a mixture of wooden bowls and spoons with sterling silver pieces scattered throughout and some sprigs of herbs growing in the perfect elegant plantar along with a bundle of lavendar just laying there. Thats my dream- although highly unattainable with a million cats and dogs and kids haha.

@Rubymal Your Victorian glass jewelry box is so stunning. Ive seen some on EBay but wasn't willing to pay the steeper prices for them but theyre utterly lovely. Hopefully Someday I can find one that is priced well! I would want to line it with velvet making it a ring box of course...able to hold about 6 rings, or put a strand of creamy white akoyas in there all snug as a bug!

All of you have such awesome finds/projects lately!

Today I had the pleasure of looking in my mothers jewelry box with her, which is really an honor. I took mine with me and we just had fun trying things on and sharing the stories and memories that surrounded each of the pieces. She's still so young, only 60 so I was surprised when she decided to give me a few sentimental pieces today but I will always keep them and cherish them.

She gave me three pairs of beautiful dainty 14k yellow gold earrings. She wants them to go to my daughter when/if she ever decides to get her ears pierced. The ones with stones are little hessonite garnets. I tried them on (I have 3 lower lobe piercings) and they actually look beautiful on together so I might have to borrow them every now and then. Its definetely a look!
    Snapchat-1745477854.jpg Snapchat-2054470126.jpg

She also gave me a beautiful sterling silver necklace that was handmade in Mexico in the 50s. Apparently it was my grandmothers and was given to her by my Grampa when she was 16 and pregnant. He was a fighter pilot and everywhere he went he picked up beautiful pieces for my grandmother. Black star sapphires, strands of pearls, a rose quartz bracelet, sapphire earrings. Most were solid gold but sadly were stolen from my sweet and unsuspecting grandmother decades later, so she only had a few left to give my mother, this piece included. It has such a neat chain and it is made of these silly filigree sombreros but it looks really neat on and I love it.
    20190704_191902.jpg 20190704_191908.jpg 20190704_191939.jpg

My mother also gave me these heavy little tumbled carnelian earrings. She wore them during my childhood and theyre very dear to me in that sense. They have sterling fixtures and look very bohemian yet clean.

Lastly, she gave me this little tie tack, apparently its a Masonic Shriners symbol but pictures dont do it justice. The diamonds tested positive and they look like OECs the shoe tack that it came with says 14k but the metal looks completely different to the pin itself. I found others similar online that have a 14k white gold shoe tack but the diamond tack itself is platinum and this is what I suspect with this little guy.
Someday I'd like to have it converted into a ring but right now I just keep admiring it. Tiny but its really striking.

Ah thanks @TheGarnetGirl for your sweet compliments. It's amazing how just changing the setting can make such a difference, I was also unsure when I got the setting about the yellow gold but it worked great. My son turns five in just four days, he is VERY excited but already got his birthday present, a new bike!

What a wonderful thing to go through your mother's jewelry with her, I think it's so important because then you find out the history of each piece you know? I love all the pieces you got, the necklace is really special with that silver work.

The box is sooo worth it! I'd seen photos on Etsy and Ebay a few times but you are right- the price is steep. It was originally priced at $75 at the show but the man running the booth (who has a b&m shop too) gave it to me for $45. I told him next time I was in his neck of the woods that I would pop by his shop and buy more stuff! The box was however missing a leg (I'll add a photo of some work I did on it on my phone after this post). I did find one box that looked just like mine on Ebay for $80, but they had best offer enabled, so maybe worth taking a look? :)

I love ALL the photos you shared! Especially the little gold earrings. So beautiful! Being on PS and especially this section of the forums, I've also had a few sessions with my mom and digging into our jewelry boxes to share jewelry and stories together.

Before on the left, after on the right. I fashioned a new leg in the middle photo out of polymer clay, glue and paint. My fiance commented that I show so much care and attention to this box!

    Good job on the repair!
Now about the polymer clay...is that Sculpey? And don't you have to bake it?
I am wondering because I do a lot of repairs like this. I have a booth in an antique mall, and I find lots of cool items that need a small fix, like what you've done here.
I use a product called Rock Hard. It's a type of powdered wood patch that you are supposed to mix with water. Instead of water, I use Elmer's glue. It makes a putty like clay that becomes super hard, like a rock. It can be carved, painted, etc.
Anyway, I am curious about the polymer clay and how you baked that jewelry box!

You're right! I used sculpy. I carved and molded the piece first and baked it alone, unattached. It was pretty difficult to get the piece to stick. At first I used gorilla glue but that was a disaster. Then I used hot glue and that just came right off. The best luck I had was sticking on a piece of unbaked clay to anchor and support the back and then lather it up with craft glue and paint over it.

I have Sculpey in this house somewhere. I will have to find it and try it out.
    Your repair really looks good!
That's how you find out what works, trial and error.
My neighbor restores antique and vintage baby dolls.
He told me about Rock Hard, as a way to replace missing fingers on antique composition dolls.
I tried it for repairs on various items and it worked good, but so much better with Elmer's mixed in. Now, I can pick up a figurine or other ceramic item that is chipped or has broken away details, and recreate them. A little craft paint and maybe a coating of clear nail polish to mimic the glaze, and voila, a perfect fix!

This is pretty! I love heart boxes.
We have a Savers nearby but I find them to be high priced. Goodwill is a little high sometimes, too.
I had no luck at all this weekend. Very few yard sales, and the thrift store yielded nothing.
Well, nothing that was worthwhile, anyway.

@stracci2000 I hear ya about no luck this weekend, this was literally the only thing I found at Savers and I agree depending on the item they can be high priced, I have found a couple of ballerina jewelry boxes there so I'm always on the hunt for those, did find one today but it didn't work (sad face).
